horrible lyrics and ungodly awful song structure. tinny guitars, poor drumming, weak bass and crappy leads

it's everything bad about cliched acoustic metal songs combined in to one epic fail

then there are all the cool acoustic interludes Opeth does in their work
Yeah, that's not bad..
I'll admit that it's not the best song Avenged have done, but it's still a meaningful song to them. It was written as a tribute song to The Rev (Their drummer and best mate since high school, who passed in december last year), and it was the first song that Syn (Guitarist) had ever written.
Maybe I just like it because of what it is intended for.

Have you listened to any more of Avenged's stuff? Earlier albums etc.?

i've heard most of their work pre The end of heartache

it's all pretty average imo
What's 'The End of Heartache'? It's not one of their albums.
But, fair enough...not everyone has the same taste in music I spose.
What are some of the bands that you're into?
Reccomendations?

it's a killswitch engage album, I got kind of sidetracked on wikipedia and had that in my clipboard instead of city of evil. anyway, bands I've been liking

Lightning Bolt - noise rock duo from Rhode Island. lot's of bass riffs with drone, doom, punk influences and heaps of samples and breakbeats thrown in to boot.

Electric Wizard - some of the most jaw dropingly heavy Doom you will ever hear. incredibly sexy bass lines

Kylesa - one of my favourite records of 09 came from these guys

Kyuss - former band of Josh Homme (queens of the stone age) and nick oliveri (the dwarves, Mondo Generator) and easily some of their best work. John Garcia absolutely rocks the mic

Japandroids - another 2piece. I guess they'd be lowfi noise party rock? fun music none the less

... I've been listening to a lot of music lately

Nick Oliveri was in Fu Manchu?

Awesome list of bands there, btw.

haha, I know all about that tired feeling as well. Pretty pissed I missed out on seeing Mondo Generator earlier this year as I rocked up thinking I'd be fine getting a ticket at the door, but nup, it had already sold out. :(

****ing assignments are keeping me up, and wasting time on here as usual.

Lightning Bolt are brilliant, giving them a listen right now, is helping me get through the night.
