WARNING: VERY LONG POST

Round 2
Zorko -> Leuenberger

Big win, got rid of Zorko very early and was very happy to do so for Leuy who I always considered a lock. It had some potential to backfire if Zorko went on to fire in the following rounds but luckily he didn't. :)
Rating: 10/10

Lucas -> O'Keefe

Pass, just. I considered both Luke Parker and Hannebery with this trade too. Both would have been better options than O'Keefe with Hannebery the best option. Lucas has done ok since trading him but has far from set the world on fire. Hindsight suggests that a trade of Kobe Stevens to Hannebery was the best trade that I seriously considered.
Rating: 5.5/10

Round 3
K.Mitchell -> Dwyer

Win. Dwyer has slowed down but I got rid of Mitchell early and from memory I needed an extra 10-15k to fund Karnezis -> Kennedy and in hindsight this was probably my best trading option to do just that. Plus it created a nice M/F link.
Rating: 9/10

Karnezis -> Kennedy

Very good trade, but it was the obvious option so I can't take too much credit for it! I like that I took a little bit of a punt in getting rid of Mitchell early in order to fund this trade.
Rating: 10/10

Round 4
Siposs -> Rowe
Win. Siposs was going nowhere fast and I think being a late exclusion in round 3 was a blessing in disguise as he didn't drop any value. The other option I strongly considered was Siposs -> Crouch which would have eliminated my midfield link with Dwyer. While - despite Couch's injury - I still feel that would have been a good trade, Siposs -> Rowe has so far been the better option.

With Moller as my ruck 4 and Cox in my forwardline I have the option of trading Moller out for a forward and swinging Rowe into my rucks whenever I so desire.
Rating: 9/10

Kommer -> Terlich
Probably a win but the jury is still out.

In the short term this is a win. What I like about it is that it opens up a midfield link with my back line. One of my strategies to begin the season with was choosing only 3 gun midfielders with lots of rookies/low-end mid pricers (Lucas + K.Stevens) so that I could do some early trading to get rid of my failed midfield rookies/mid-pricers and get on the best rookies from other positions that I did not pick in my initial team. In doing so I would create links to my midfield through other positions which gives me a plethora of trading options and allows me to upgrade rookies/midpricers that have peaked into midfield guns who have bottomed out.
Rating: 8.5/10

Round 5 (I just made my trades tonight)
Viney -> Mayes
Too early to know but this was a very popular trade this week and will hopefully be a big win. The m/f link it creates is also handy.
Rating: N/A

Stevens -> Evans
Too early to know if this is a good trade or not but it certainly helps me fund future upgrades. I had the cash to upgrade Stevens to a Buddy/SJ/Westhoff in the forwardline or a midfielder under about 530k after trading Viney but instead I decided to cash grab and elect to commence upgrading next round instead with the 430k I now have in the bank.

I'm hoping SJ doesn't score too highly this round considering he would have almost certainly been the one I upgraded to if I chose to go down that path.
Rating: N/A

Summary
I think my trading has been fairly sound with the Zorko trade probably the big winner. I haven't made any real gutsy trades but instead have pulled the trigger early and have managed to correct all the major mistakes I made in selecting my initial team.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Initial team
B: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Hartlett, Pittard, Goodes (Heath, Stevenson)

C: Swan, Ablett, Pendlebury, Lucas, Stevens, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (Mitchell, Kommer)

R: Cox, Maric (Blicavs, Moller)

F: Rockliff, Zorko, Riewoldt, Martin, Siposs, Karnezis (Macaffer, Neade)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Current Team [430k bank]
B: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Hartlett, Pittard, Terlich (Heath, Stevenson)

C: Swan, Ablett, Pendlebury, O'Keefe, Wines, Goodes, O'Meara, Evans (Dwyer, Neade)

R: Maric, Leuenberger (Blicavs, Moller)

F: Cox, Rockliff, Riewoldt, Martin, Kennedy, Mayes (Rowe, Macaffer)

EDIT: My future trading plans I think are quite obvious, I have 430k in the bank and 3 links between my backline + forwardline and my midfield. Watson, Cotchin, Boyd, Stanton, Selwood x 2, Thompson, Swallow etc are all on my watchlist as I hope to upgrade to midfield guns ASAP!

Hanley -> Hartlett whenever Hanley went and got himself suspended rd3 or 4. Was thinking it was one of my best trades but now...

Is anyone reading other peoples trading history, or just posting their own.

Ive made 11 trades and 8 of them have worked out well.

The 3 bad trades:

Daw --> Sinclair (pre-round 4)
In hindsight a bad trade, but NicNat wasnt expected back so soon, and who honestly expected Daw to bag 6 goals so early)

Moloney --> J.Selwood (pre-round 5)
Could have gotten either Murphy or S.Selwood for the same price.

Fyfe --> Watson (pre-round 6)
No way did i think Watson would score less than 110 against GWS. Instead he gets a 50 something score and fallen in price a lot, with more falling still to come.

This game is cruel.

Round 7:
Shannon Byrnes (demons) -> Tom Lynch (crows)
as you would expect im rather pleased with my self this week.

from the last 2 weeks my 2 worst for the year so far

Gibbs > Hartlett
Karnezis > Knights

My best week was probably during the carnage week.

Gibbs -> Scotland
Heppell -> Hanley

Didn't want Hartlett as I watched him scored very poorly with a tag earlier on in the year and I just wasn't convinced on him. He scored poorly for 3 quarters against WC before pumping out a big last quarter so I just didn't want him. Also stayed away from Birchall as I have been waiting for him to get the tag (which he did).

Gibbs has missed two weeks whilst Scotland has put together two decent scores and although Heppell only missed one week, Hanley smashed his score last weekend :thumbsu:

Some other trades I have been happy with:

Round 7
Heath -> Ellis

Went with Heath out over Stevenson because I only planned to keep the other for one more week and I rated Stevenson's SP higher. Went Ellis over Vlaustin because if I didn't want to miss out on him and it's a lot harder to justify bringing in Ellis at the price he is now compared to what he was last week. I now bring in Vlaustin for Stevenson this week at a higher price but happy with that. Stevenson also outscore Heath. Only slightly but it still counts.

The not so great:

Round 5

Martin -> Mayes
Crouch -> Ablett

Now this wasn't horrible trades by any means but in hindsight, I would love to still have Martin. I needed Ablett and with Mayes scoring so well I was willing to change my structure and play a rookie in the forward line. Martin was coming off a shocking score with another second half disappearance act. He was at 468k which I thought would be as high as he would get with a massive BE.

My other options to trade out in Westhoff, Monfries, Lecras and Kennedy all had low BE's so I stuck with them.

Martin has since scored very well and consistently as well. He appears to all of a sudden be able to run out second halves a lot better which was one of the main reasons I got rid of him.

Round 7

Cotchin -> Wellingham

Another one that wasn't looking too good after the weekend. I needed a forward premium and decided to go with Wellingham after being very happy with his role and score in his first game for WC. I couldn't wait another week because I wanted to target Vlaustin and Franklin this week so in he came. I figured he would be very unique because most would bring in Franklin this week instead.

He went on to score 50 in greasy conditions. Again, his role was promising so I'm hoping he can turn it around.

This trade has since become a bit better with Thomas getting injured today. I was choosing between them two and SJ so it's not so bad (Avoided SJ because I needed to bank some money for upcoming bottomed out premos in Watson, Franklin etc).

Overall, my biggest problem has been the lack of pure upgrades I have made. Too much sideways trading trying to be aggressive and not enough pure upgrades. Hopefully get my team back on track this week.

Round 3
Scott Selwood -> Brad Ebert

Sigh. Just before Scooters amazing form.

Round 4
Dangerfield -> Swallow

Was looking good until Danger's two 140s... remains to be seen how this one will end up.

The rest have been fine (I dumped Ebert for SJ in Rd 6 when he was only 515k and got in early). Banking the cash with rookies, got on Vlaustin and Laird last week, Colquohn made me a lot of coin and gave me a def/mid link which was badly needed.

The only misstep was selecting Cloke instead of NRoo.

from the last 2 weeks my 2 worst for the year so far

Gibbs > Hartlett
Karnezis > Knights
Ouch, although very unlucky with Knights. My worst is trading Hodge for Watson when Hodge had a bad score or two. FMDT
The Good: Stupidly speculated on Josh Green at the start of the year (hoping Brisbane would smash it), but I redeemed that by bringing in Tom Lynch last week.

worst trades round 2 i traded Zorko to higgins. (higgins immediatley injured) could have got westoff.
round 3 went zac smith to kreuzer (he got injured)
eventually got rid of higgins for dale thomas, he lasted a few weeks then injured as well and traded out.
Ended up getting leuy for kreuzer. could have just started leuy over smith rd 1 and played blicavs rd 1
