What do you think you are like after round one, would you say you over react quickly or are you broadminded and tried to look at the positives ?

Beat the bunnies in 2 weeks and by then the dons will be wiped out for round 3, all good! :p:D

In all seriousness I'm positive, we matched Port in every area and just couldn't convert. Still have a few nice inclusions and the team needs to gel, 2 debutants and 3 likely debutants coming up. We'll be fine.

I was pretty gutted. Wasn't angry but was just disappointed. I can see the positives now and I still think that we have a good chance of making the eight if we rebound strongly. I'm still disillusioned with the club at the moment since it will geniunely suck if don't improve this year. Can't justify finishing outside the eight for the third consecutive season. I'm all for the kids to get their fair amount of opportunities this year.

Bit miffed, as anyone should be with a loss. But ultimately it's just one loss and for that reason I can give the club the benefit of the doubt. Move on to next game.

Plus we play better at the 'G'

Optimistic, about this team.
But it has struck me that there is now a whole generation of supporters thst havent tasted success.

Prepared early for a long season so not so gutted. Now just looking for the same old "play the kids, be competitive" stuff of the past 10 years. Progress, I think not.

At least it's not three or four…

(small consolation but…)
(would never begrudge the Doggies any success…the Saints on the other hand...)

18 years without a flag is painful. I'd say that Carlton supporters are more hungry then anyone else for success since we know that we have had all these champions and great premiership teams in our history. We are going crazy at the possibility of rebuilding again and becoming like Richmond. Personally it seems like I've missed out to be honest since I haven't seen any Carlton champions comparable to Greg Williams, Kernahan or Koutafides run around for the current Carlton team except for Judd who was taken from WC. Older Carlton supporters have seen successful Carlton sides win flags while people around my age have seen nothing but wooden spoons, salary cap cheating, 3 finals chokes and years of underachieving. Ratten and Pagan don't really compare with Ron Barassi and David Parkins as well.

Hard to rate as obviously disappointed for the loss but also somewhat understanding of why it came about.
Easy to say we should have played y ahead of x, but that really wasn't the issue as much as getting a fit squad on the park.

We had 22 ops over the pre-season and it's going to get a little bit of time to get fully up and running.
Would we be good enough should have we had 44 primed players on the list at the get-go, would make for a different query.

I'd be a lot more worried should have Davies, Joseph, McCarthy, Collins etc still been on our list.

The fact that we looked like we were playing awesome football in the first quarter with great defensive pressure and awesome ball movement just makes the last quarter even more disappointing in my opinion. We looked like Ross Lyon's Freo team did when their team finally clicked and started playing top four quality football. However It's a indictment on the side when I knew that we were not even close to having a comfortable lead despite been around 4 goals up for a lot of the game. The up coming month will tell us a lot about this side.

Pretty disappointed but not overly surprised at the result. I felt when we appointed Malthouse that he would need all of those three years to get us going and I stand by that. Port are a good side, they are impressive up forward in the middle and we are not. I wouldn't write us off going through a mini-rebuild. We still have a good side with everyone available though.

Voted all of the above, but I would highly consider a hug from Kouta just so I could ask him if he's interested in dropping the souvlakis and making a return to football.

I probably need to chill a bit but I was pretty fired up, given at stages I felt as though effort was the major difference between the two sides.
I shouldn't be surprised by now but I just want better than what we've dished up in recent times, I want other clubs to dread the prospect of playing us.
