11. Michael Doughty - 8 - one of the better disposers of the ball in the squad
12. Robert Shirley - 6 - Just below AFL standard
13. Ben Hudson - 7 - I agree with Stiffy that his disposal is up to AFL standard
14. Hayden Skipworth - 6 - Not bad, but just not quite there.
15. Jason Torney - 7 - AFL standard.
16 - Ken McGregor - 7 - Neat disposal in general
17. Scott Welsh - 6 - Would have rated him a 7 last year - not this year.
18. Graham Johncock - 7 - He's improved to be one of the better ones
19. Mark Stevens - 5- Drops the ball badly and hooks to his left.
20. Tyson Stenglein - 6 - not as good as it should be.

Average for this group of 6.5 - still below AFL standard of 7 overall.

Overall average for my first 20 is 6.2.
Just to get a feel for this, how would you rate say Peter Burgoyne, Ebert and Poulton?

Burgoyne - 9 - generally always looks for a man and finds him.

Ebert - 7 -Good AFL standard at this stage and may get even better

Poulton - 5 - Could be a 6 on a good day. Below AFL standard.

Thanks Stiffy and Macca, just trying to get a feel for it.
I don't watch enough Crow games, but some of the votes given differed from my opinion, so I was trying to work out if it was only the kick part of it, or intent as well.

For what it's worth I rate the three Port players the same as Macca.
Poulton I threw in deliberately because his "intent" is usually good but delivery can let him down big time as well.
Intent 7, delivery 3-6 (it really does vary), average about 5 or so.

Someone like Burton I see somewhat the other way around.
Shove him near the goals, that way you remove his "intent" factor and bring up the average.
4 is a bit harsh though.

Jees I recon P Burgoyne is a terrific player but a 9? He can be unaccountable at times he also relies on reading the play a lot and when port are down a few good players it doesn’t come to him as easily. I recon about a 7.
Ebert will become ports best ever player (I have no doubt) but he isn’t there yet and can look lost at times and does go missing regularly for 5 and 10 minute intervals. I recon a 6 ATM but by the years end probably a 7 or 8. 3 years time a 9.
I wish we had Polton he’s not glamorous but I just love the 1%ers , I do agree that he needs work on the other 99% though, 6

Sorry i've just realised that this is only disposals not overall (oops:eek: )

in that case i agree pretty much with macca.

Peter Burgoyne has been the most consistent player for Port this season so far and could easily be leading in Brownlow votes for Port at this stage. It's between him and Tredrea.
Last week he was the one player that stood up until he got injured.
Disposal wise IMO he is up there amongst the best of them in the AFL.

i ammended my post.
maybe im underrating burgoyne (i havent seen a live port game this year but i have seen them all on TV), i stand by what i said about him overall though it seems to me that when the plan aint working so well P burgoyne finds it a bit harder to get it (not dispose)

Yeah, it's red.

But I did qualify it by saying that beauty's in the eye of the beholder, didn't I?? ;)

ahh true, true. He looks like a 4 year old, and has forgot his sling-shot in my opinion. Hang on red hair, and freckles...is anyone sure he's not Brett Burton's girlfriend?

Might as well complete the balance of this exercise:

21. James Gallagher - 7 - Up to standard - generally good
22. Ian Perrie - 3 - 6 for set shots, 0 for kicks under pressure, avge 3
23. Andrew McLeod - 7 - Two years ago I would have rated him a 9.
24. Brett Burton - 3 - Master of the hospital ball and the kick to the opponent.
25. Ben Rutten - 7 - This part of his game is AFL standard.
26. Jacob Schuback - 7 - Neat left foot kick.
27. Scott Stevens - 4 - God help us when he shoots for goal
28. James Begley - 7 - Been very good this tear with his foot passing
29. Aidan Parker - 6 - Not quite there yet
30. Luke Jericho - 7 - Beautiful kick this lad. Will end up an 8 with experience
31. Joshua Krueger - 7 - Very neat disposal
32. Mark Ricciuto - 7 - Could be an 8 if he looked a bit more.
33. Brent Reilly - 8 - Classy neat disposal
34. Ben Hart - 6 - Burns the ball more than people realize
35. Rhett Biglands - 5 - Ordinary kick - technique is shocking.
36. Simon Goodwin - 7 - Beautiful execution technically. Could look a bit more.
37. Trent Hentschel - 8 - Very very good with his disposal.
39. Martin Mattner - 4 - Rarely finds a target
40. Chris Ladhams - 8 - Beautiful left foot kick.
41. Tim Hazell - 7 - Very very neat.
42. Brad Dabrowski - 5 - Poor kicking action
43. Rowan Andrews - 5 - As above, but they'll work on him because he looks so likely.
44. Nathan Bock - 6 - has to improve under pressure

Average for this group 5.9.

Average over the whole squad of just over 6 against an AFL standard of 7. Certainly supported by the way we burn the ball during games.
