I think everyone has, the guy bleeds navy blue.Ratten is nothing but class.
I've been impressed by the way he has handled this.[/quote]
Reporter: "Would Brett Ratten have been sacked if Mick Malthouse wasn't available?"
Silence
Stick: "It's a close one".

imagine how Malthouse's demeanour would be in a similar situation
he gets that look in his eye, and that snarl on his face - it's Malty against the world.Malthouse was at Collingwood for 13 years, knew he was leaving for the last three, had a chance to go out with back-to-back premierships, ended up a three time premiership coach with a 16 year drought inbetween, and he still acts like a weird cross between a petulant child and a bitter old man in the media.
Would be surprised if Ratten isn't an assistant coach somewhere next year.
Seriously though, really classy exit. Gave the Blues far less stick than they deserved. Mick Malthouse has a bit of blood on his hands here. Generally respect him but he was far from classy in his not-too-subtle comments over the weekend. It's obvious to all its his job now.
he also left WC in a mess - looks a good coach of a good team but not a manager and developer.Malthouse was at Collingwood for 13 years, knew he was leaving for the last three, had a chance to go out with back-to-back premierships, ended up a three time premiership coach with a 16 year drought inbetween, and he still acts like a weird cross between a petulant child and a bitter old man in the media.
