The part i liked most about that was the fact that Ratts did subtly setup the next coach for some hard times with his talk about how Carlton should aim for top four next season, because their list is that good.

Now, maybe he truly believes that, but the next coach was going to have some lofty expectations on him. They may have just increased somewhat.

I firmly believe that most of her articles are reporting is based on fairly solid information. I honestly believe that in the macho old school AFL world plenty of people don't stand behind what they say and do behind closed doors. Sometimes when she reports things people/clubs deny any knowledge etc as there are just so many smoke and mirrors

Anyway, thankfully for Caro and Thomas.

Thomas is the number 1 for mine when it comes to footy opinions. Luckily for clubs he can't be bothered spending anymore time than necessary keeping them honest

This is my main issue with her. She is just one of many terrible journalists who let bias creep into their work and seem to enjoy kicking clubs when they're down. She's not a witch, she's a vulture, just like far too many others.

I don't think it's sexism, I just genuinely don't like her demeanor. Same as I dislike Walls. Same as I dislike Hutchy. They are all idiots with agendas who are adding nothing positive to the average person's knowledge of the AFL. Caro is just the most visible example because she drives such a hard line. While it may be sexist to label her as a bitch, the fact remains that she is one. There are plenty of women involved in football who are perfectly reasonable - Underwood, Malthouse, and FSN reporters who have been involved with the game on and off for whatever reason have been more than paletable.

Most of the other journalists are just as bad, Damian Barrett being one of them.
Don't know why people trot out the "sexist" remarks. If she's a shit journo, she's a shit journo. Just like Robbo and whoever else. If she actually talked properly without bias as say someone like Rohan Connelly with proper analysis of the game instead of trying to trivialize everything making it into a headline when it's not, then there wouldn't be an issue, regardless of whether she's male or female.

she certainly does, but she's not a loner on that score. It's one of my pet peeves against so-called "objective" journos. Robbo absolutely gets personal and so has Sheehan at times.

She's on a completely different level to Barrett. I'm not going to slander Barrett but please, yes they work in media but their quality of work is worlds apart.

People trot out the sexist remarks because it is partially valid - she gets to the guts of issues and it seems to rub plenty of people in AFL circles the wrong way.

He is a very good coach, who in all honesty did a great job with a very average list.

Sure its his job to help build it, but the are the ones that should be sacked. Blues have had no backline or forwardline for the last 5 years.

Fair dinkum, they got reamed by Injuries. Knee-Jerk reaction. Team should of made the 8, but one bad year shouldn't get you rogered when you've been on the improve. Fail to show improvement next year? Fine, get the boot. Players have to take responsibility though.

As for Caro, never liked her, because her articles are mostly about the political side of things and often contain large amounts of innuendo and factualy incorrect guesses. I only care about the football.
