for those who missed it....
I hear a lot of talk about getting rid of Hall - he didn't help us much during the year.
But then from memory, he carried a few injuries this year, and we are short of talls, he's not too old and he has only been playing footy for a few years...it takes awhile for a big guy to develop
..not saying he's untradeable, but not a throw-away either.
Personally, I think Brown's good, but not even near $500k

With Holland, Stafford, Ottens, Richardson, Gaspar, Schultz, Vardy I wouldn't say that we are completely short on talls,
However I do agree that Hall shouldn't be written off to quickly as he is very athletic for a big man and could still be a good player for us

Should and probably will go. But if 1 or more of the following are traded Richo,Holland,Hall plus the the fact that Gaspar will be out for a large part of next season we would look very thin come talls.
Unlikely that all 3 would go but even if 2 ....say holland and Hall were to leave, the club might be forced to retain him to cover the loses.

I remember seeing somewhere that in respect of tall players over a certain height (190cm?) we are very short on in comparison with other clubs.
If you look at the 6 talls mentioned:
Richo trade bait?
Gaspar - out to mid season?
Holland - had a good year 2 years ago but is acknowledged as a big slow backman
Stafford - is he fully over all of the physical problems he brought from Syd?
Ottens - stable, long termer
Hall - bad year for injuries
Schultz - young, needs time for development and experience...
Vardy - keen, but just shy of the Firsts
...I can still remember the frustration of watching Benny for a few years until he got settled.
...also, a lot of other clubs are asking for talls, and while top quality m/fielders are special, good midfielders aren't as rare...but serviceable talls are hard to find.
