Re: I just can't control my feelings any more......

There were average decisions that went both ways.

Cox had a bigger influence in the last 10 minutes than any umpiring decision.

Yes, but why must we tolerate this garbage. Hiding behind "it evened itself up" or "we deserved to lose because we got 50 points behind" (true enough by the way) should not diminish the anger at the way that abysmal person wilfully inserts himself into the game at the most critical juncture.

That's all.

The two decisions inside either forward line were disgraceful. Razor Ray may be in real trouble, has had at least 3 ordinary games in 4 weeks with the Carlton game against us, Freo v Sydney and today.

He is so amazingly bad. Two crucial decisions in front of goal in the last quarter, just shouldn't have been paid. The fans, commentators and players are all confused about the way the game is being umpired, and there don't seem to be any way to fix it.

On the game, massive effort by the Dogs to hit the lead, lifted the workrate and were all over us in the last quarter. Without Coxy we would have lost that. I know you didn't get the points, but well done for what was a good game of footy, and best of luck for the remained of the year, I'd love to see the Dogs make the 8.

Nothing will ever be done. Umpires have never been, and will never be responsible for their actions according to the AFL.

In fairness to the holding the ball we got, the rule is that if you dive on it you get pinged - that is what happened (I personally think it's a harsh rule and doesn't reward the ball getter) - was a marginal descision at WORST.

As for the descision against us, worst I've seen in a very very long time and costly - It speaks for itself!

Agree. I hate reaching for umpiring as an excuse because it never is when you weigh it all up. However, to put both decisions in the same basket is too much of a stretch from where I stand.

Selwood was stiff, but you see those paid all the time.

When do you ever see a free kick go against a player who has disposed of the ball and is slung into the ground in the motion of the original tackle? Just never happens, until today.

Whether West Coast fans or our very own 'objective' fans like it or not, the decision changed the narrative of the game. Just put a halt to the momentum we were running with.

It was a disgraceful free kick.

I actually think that once an umpire thinks they have ****ed up, they decide to 'even' it up.

The 'two wrongs make a right' attitude from umpires is a disgrace.

That's the thing that urks me, 'well it happened up the other end so they cancel eachother out'. NO...it's double the shitness!

Up until those last 2 critical decisions, I actually thought Razor hadn't been too bad today. Matthew Nichols had yet another shocker - how he continues to get a game is beyond belief. He must have incriminating photos of someone. :D

The Gia holding the ball was harsh. The Darling holding the man was a guess that was just totally wrong. But in the end the Eagles won because they had the Bigger Cox.

Crazy decision, over umpired. Should have just been play on.

Game of two halves, where were we the first half, so lazy and then they decide to run? Such a shame needed a win to keep us in the hunt today.

Was a woeful decision and as much as I'll take it, it was a shitty way to get back on level terms.

I was starting to fume becuase I thought the free kick was going to against Darling and was possibly going to cost us a goal as Lecras looked to be gathering the loose ball in space and have a shot at goal. Was surprised and relieved to see the free went our way.

Wouldn't have helped your guys blood pressure though.

Great fightback btw and I was impressed with Easton Woods game after half time

He makes mistakes but that is the type of player fans of the game love to see up and about for sure. Quick, agile and aggressive with the footy in his hands.

Chamberlain went largely unnoticed until the last quarter. Obviously couldn't let himself not influence a game.

Nichols was unbelievably bad. The game had a decent flow to it until it entered his "section". Seemed to not help but pay a free.

As much as we hate that flog Razor Ray, the 50 point head start was unforgiveable. Why did it take that insipid effort to get the team started and working as one? The umpires did not cost us the game, the 50 point lead did...

I guess that might make you feel better about the loss if you are philosophical about giving WCE a 50 point lead.
I watched the game and Ray Chamberlain absolutely destroyed any chance the Bulldogs had of winning with that crucial blunder. He should be dropped but instead he will umpire the match of the round next week. Disgraceful.

I would agree with you that he has been disgraceful the last month or so but he's not in any trouble. That tool Jeff Gieschen said the umpires were good in the Sydney vs Freo game.

When I was younger I did a placement with the umpiring department and you are right, they look for any reason to make the decision right. Gieschin was there and he is a very placid type of fella, but seems to look for reasons to stick up for his men which is understandable given he is a footballer at heart. But that doesn't necessarily mean he is the right man for this particular job.
