I like the look of our potential team until I look at the back six. Despite all the talk of Grundy/LRT improvement, we are extremely weak in that area with the exception of Bolton of course.

What's holding you back on Moore? I've liked the look of him so far.

I like the look of our potential team until I look at the back six. Despite all the talk of Grundy/LRT improvement, we are extremely weak in that area with the exception of Bolton of course.

I think we need a genuine big FB, but i'd rate our backline in the better half of the competition, still.

Personally, I wouldn't mind LRT playing a looser role. He's devleoped his marking, and his one-on-ones are better, but will probably never be fantastic.

I surprised myself that I have Meredith and Buchanan missing at this point from the equation. Malceski is a must first up if he can find his way through the pre season and regain confidence he is an a grade player playing like a nobody but he can play to hurt the opposition.

I look at that, and I think about the fact that there are guys like Meredith and Buchanan out of the top 22, when there is a top 10 draft pick coming and, no doubt if we go by Roos previous efforts in trade week, one or two mature aged players that would be players who are in line for a spot in the top 22, I think if we can keep our best 22 fit we will be close to the finals again, if not in the top 8. If the squad suffers a few injuries at the same time, I think we are going to be found wanting a little in our depth.

Hmm fair enough. I imagine Kennedy playing the position in the midfield that i want Moore to play but Roosy doesnt want him to play. Hannebery vs Meredith is an intriguing debate to have over who gets the last spot on the bench. There are always injuries of course though.

Im liking our depth too, Vonn. But injuries always hit as i said.

I put Bevo in the forward as i think he can play the role NOG did at hte end of this year better than how Luke plays it. Quicker, better kick, just as tough, just as good a tackler if not better (probs better) and a better mark.

Is Grundy staying back or is Roos still going to move him forward at some stage? I'd like to fit one of Bevan or Ablett in the team because they are strong bodied footballers. Very valuable in a youngish team.

Meredith should be moving into the midfield rotation next year. Vez probably another season for him before being considered for the midfield (although I am still not convinced he'll ever be a midfielder).

I would love to add Rohan & maybe Butcher/Talia to this squad...but I couldn't speculate my first 22...yet!

I would hope Veszpremi is in our Round 1 team...and O'Dwyer for that matter. He showed a lot at the end of the year. Some pretty good players are going to struggle to get a game this year unless the injury bug hits. I think LJ will have to wait a bit....but ffs, we'd better not play Richards up forward (he is clueless up there and for mine isn't even in our best 22 going forward based on what he did last year) and Mattner in the midfield.

Grundy is our CHF, Richards plays a loose role in defence. After Richards was injured, LRT and Grundy alternated in his role.
