My point exactly. I'm banking 294 for Gibbs. Swan may make 150 but the risk for an extra six points doesn't stack up. If he does, he's in my side anyway!
Is everyone here 100% certain the captain loophole will work again this year?
From the Dream Team rules page: “Your captain scores double points. You can also select a vice captain – your vice captain will score double points ONLY if your captain is a late withdrawal or doesn’t play for any reason. You can change your captain and vice captain as often as you like prior to the start of each round. ”
It doesn't say that your VC wil score double points if you don't have a captain. Does anyone have something concrete?
If there is some doubt in your mind about getting the captain's double points, your options are:
a) Pick a captain (maybe Swan might be an option based on this thread? *grins*)
OR
b) Start a bench player who won't play this week (eg. a Gold Coast player) and make him your captain. Then your emergency will cover the donut, and you might want to cross your fingers thst no other player in that position is a late withdrawal.
I'm facing this dilemma myself, after making Gibbs my VC last night. Do I take a risk and possibly miss out on double points, or do I put the C on Swanny?

IF (!!!) the loophole will work the same as last year, you just need to get the C off Swan by trading him out and then trading him back in again.

Put a gold coast player on the field, give him the C, have an emergency cover his score.
Your Captain doesnt play, your VC (Gibbs) gets double points.

I had Gibbs as VC last night and the iphone App was already doubling his points total even though I had Swan selected as Captain. Given that I am pretty sure I his score will be doubled even if no captain is selected.
The live scoring has always shown double points for the VC if they play before the captain has. Then their score reverts back to normal after the C plays.

Ah good ole Captain choices. The one and only thing i never get right.
Just going to go with Swan and probably never change, because whenever i do change the other captain option scores a ridiculous amount, while my captain dishes up garbage.
