Sorry, I would have to disagree here. He had 31 handball receives because he ran harder than any other player for the GC. In fact, he busted his gut running to position to get possession to make up for the fact that many of his teammates weren't pulling their weight. I believe he had something like 18 or 19 contested possessions too. I think you're being a little harsh. Running hard to receive isn't that easy over 3 hours on the MCG. Mammoth effort by the man.
I didn't mean to belittle Gaz' efforts Gambit, simply that his talent as a link man (which is seemingly as he is being used) is totally wasted. His greatest strength - and fear factor - has always been the way he was able to take a game on and tear a team apart with his aggression and strength. In the role of link man that is squandered and I for one think its a crying shame, both for his team and the spectacle of AFL footy in general.

I agree with this, only having 14 touches forward of centre shows how relatively ineffective he was.

My biggest problem with the game was Tom Young. The kid has absolutely no idea where to run, constantly sits in no mans land, and generally runs no where near hard enough. He has the positional sense of Jason Wild.
