Solid win V Port but costly..

2 x hammies and PFD gone for a few mid season weeks.

Lots to like from last week but Woofers will be a different breed this week.

Will add more later but let’s have at it for now.

Mitch Duncan 300th - great effort for the boy from Perth who never left to go home.

No PFD, Maybe add a Stewy...

Will be a hard MF battle which we have to win to be a chance.

Go Catters

Either Baz will give away 10 frees or the Dogs will against him. No in between

I really hope he's smart enough not to go over the top. If they want to target him that says more about them than him. He should be thinking it's really just another game and the ultimate aim is September anyway.

Tbh i love the guy but I'm not sure he's a Mensa candidate

Look, it's such a shame to see probably the best young tall we have seen since Riewoldt get a serious injury - but with Kolo out, am I glad he's missing this week...

Dogs are kicking goals from everywhere. West is one to clamp down on but they have a lot of goal kickers sans Darcy.

Naughton is missing most of his attempts but they had Buku in the fwd line Sat night who can take plenty of marks.

Danger will be missed as much for his leadership than his play IMO... I can see the Dogs trying to get under Baz's skin and Danger's ability to calm him down and ensure he's in the right headspace is irreplaceable.

We look a midfielder or two short yet again, and the loss of running Danger/Bowes through there doesn't help that. I would be rolling the dice with Stewart and chucking him in the middle. If Stanley is back, I'd also play Blitz around the stoppages for his big body and experience. Expecting Baz, Max and Atkins to carry the entire load v Bont, Libba, Richards, Sanders, Kennedy and Freijah is too much to ask.

Their forward line doesn't worry me at all, SDK to do the job yet again on Naughton and COS to Khamis. Zuthrie will have more freedom than he's had for weeks especially with Henry and Stewie back.

If we can find a way to manufacture Neale to largely play a decoy role on Lobb, Jezza could be looking at another big game.

IN: Stanley, Stewart, Clohesy/Knevitt/Clark
OUT: Dangerfield, Bowes, ?

Was interesting Joey on first crack was talking about how much we'd miss Bowes more than paddy

It was a terrible match in terrible conditions but worth flagging Jamarra and Darcy kicked 5 between them (neither of them playing this week) and Treloar kicked 3 (also out this week).

Also looking at the stats from last time: Jezza had 6 touches and 1 goal, Dempsey had 5 and 1.
Parfitt was subbed off in the last quarter with just 6 touches.

Massive 8-point game Thursday night. Lose, and we’re scrapping it out for 7th–9th. Win, and 4th is right back on the table.

Bailey Smith revenge game aside, there are huge matchups all over the ground:

  • Atkins v Libba – biff potential: high
  • Mullin to go with Ed Richards – big ask
  • Smith v Bont – popcorn ready
  • I'm tipping Blicavs will likely to tag Bont – need his size and discipline in tight

Tim English has been in ripping form, so we’ll need another “Stanley Special” – he’s actually got a great record against the Dogs, so fingers crossed.

No Dangerfield, which means no late heroics. It’s got to be a full-team effort and, crucially, we need to actually convert our shots.

Dogs probably have us covered on paper, but under lights at GMHBA – it’s a flip of the coin.

Go Cats
