Hoping after this one we leave Murphy and Plow alone on this board. Murphy starred. SOS was awesome, get a tank son and you'll be a midfielder.
The win saved Paddy also as when he got tackled I thought we were done
Great win and even better to get off the bottom

I liked that he had Ed on Fyfe from the start, but when that didn't work out sent JSOS to him who did a good job, and let Ed hunt the ball and he finished with a ridiculous 16 clearances.

Teague is showing good tactical and match day nous.
Would be absolutely rapt if that at the end of our review Teague was considered the outstanding candidate as coach ..

Calling BLUEALLTHRU and other WA Blues who attended the game. Let us know your feelings and the atmosphere.

Snapshot: train on the way home was a singalong you only usually get in Melbourne. Don’t know the official numbers but gee we seemed out in force tonight. Also my 11 year old son saw his first live win CFC win. Gold.

Finally it's happened to me
Right in front of my face
And I just can't describe it....

I've got no voice left and I have sung the song around 40 times.

I wen't with less than zero expectations but I'm gobsmacked. My son had not seen us win live since Judd at the G, against the Tigers at least 8 years ago:thumbsu::thumbsu:
If I’m not mistaken you were complaining on Thursday evening after the team was announced about the non disclosure of the injuries to Crippa and Harry given that you had booked to travel there. Correct? Complaint dismissed. Lol.

Amazing stuff. Loved the move of SOS to Fyfe when Ed was getting beaten. Thought we defended as well as we have all year.

DA DADA DADAAA!

Teagues is a great game day coach

Post match conference with Teague up...

Bloody hard not to really like the bloke

Measured, speaks brilliantly and can flip a magnet or 2 when repuired

A win next week and a couple more after that and he’ll take some unseating...

The WA Blues are brilliant! Ever since Mike Fitzpatrick, Kenny hunter, buzz, Earl, Richard Dennis and other WA rippers played for us, the support in the West has been second to none.

Warms the heart to hear the WA Blues supporting our boys. Well done 👍

21 pages and not one comment on the umpires. wtf is goin on?
Umpires were good today. We received at least three free kicks today for incidents near or over the boundary line. I suspect that McGovern's push on Guelfi last week will have rightly tightened up the awareness.
There were several jumper holding incidents (some for us and some against) and one blatant block (which sent the Freo fans nuts) all correctly paid.
I suspect that for some fans "prior opportunity" continues to be poorly understood.

Bit sorta josh kennedy esque ?
Think the difference between JSOS and Kennedy/or any big bodied midfielder is he is learning to play a position that he didn't play at all until being trialled until just recently at the NB's as last year, in saying that the thing that he has going for him is his footy brain something he's shown us up forward during his under 18 years through to his time since being recruited to us.
You can see he knows how to read the play by where and when to run/ lead , flight/body positioning, spacial awareness, seems to have the footy iq to know when/where and who to get the ball out too of packs or heavily contested areas, his aerobic capacity and body strength is only just starting to really take shape...

Thought Walsh played an amazing team game today. Very inside doing simple things, always under pressure and was everywhere. Incredible for a first year player. Probably the best first year player I have seen since the draft started. GPS numbers would be through the roof
Yes there were a few times where he cleared the ball from congestion to the opposition's advantage. What impressed me at one point was that it was clear that he was hurting. He simply took a few seconds to recover and then moved to the next contest. Amazing in itself for such a young player who is physically still relatively fragile. Everything he does at the moment is "above and beyond" even though his effectiveness was down today on previous weeks. Sam was the main but not only reason I wanted to go to the game today.

What is really good about Murph's goal is that he was at the ruck contest on 50 & despite it having been a torrid game of footy, he still had the run at 30+ minutes in the last quarter to get into a position to receive from Fish.
spot on, daisy's goal the same - have a look how far off the ball he was before he reached the square.........

Apologies BB, I misunderstood your post. I agree, it may well have been Jacks best game of his career, for multiple reasons. I said elsewhere he is not like his Dad, he is like his Grandad. He is not polish, he is grunt. Don't judge the grunts too hard for not having polish.

It looked to me like he and Bam Bam were changing ruck rovers today (old fashioned concept, I know, but it may be a good time to bring it back) they changed from FP to on ball for the first half, then JSOS was given a job on Fyfe after half time.
Just my opinion BB but as far as JSOS it's safe to say that he'll never be he's father, imo probably in the top 5 Carlton players I've watched live/tv throughout my lifetime from a kid from the age of seven to currently now which has been 43 yrs. I've only seen footage of Serge so i can't comment too much on the comparison but from the footage i have seen my impression is his grandfather was a much harder quicker nimble player as a ruck rover/ midfielder, to me Jack only lacks in the being quicker/nimble department but is a much more polished player than his grandpa was...

Capt cripps said it was a good opportunity for someone to stand up in his absence. Murph saw his chance and grabbed it!

Murphs performance turned back the clock, that was the Murph of old his presence was profound....
