If all the Silvagni boys have 3 sons, then they all have 3 sons. We will eventually field a team of only Silvagnis....

What a sight to behold.

We just have to bred them with athletic Women of different heights to get ruckman Silvagni and forward pocket Silvagni

EDIT: Rsos, HFFsos and BPsos is how we will call them.
If you like your football team team to be all wide arsed bulls, with the occasional high flyer, ok.

Do we have to change the name of the club?

I played with Highett West with sons of a family who had 16 children. We joked it was Burgess West, Tough boys the Burgess clan, they had to be just to get fed.

Its a long flight back from the west when you are tired and sore.
Nothing better than getting in that seat with the job done. Hours to share that succesful post game time in close proximity with team mates and coaches. The good things that can er, germinate from that cannot be underestimated.
Kids are finding out they can mix it at AFL levels and do their thing.
Ed Curnow, captain, midfield, very very impressive.
Murph, respect.

So happy for three players in particular. Murph, Jack, Kennedy.

A game, a half, a couple of moments. Either something to build on or to remind us of just how damned good they were/are through some seriously shitty times at this club.

Why not win a few more games this year? My young fellas insisted we sung the song with our arms on each other’s shoulders after the game. A nice reminder that footy is supposed to be fun - not some weekly rationalisation of pathways, trajectories, etc.

I loved that moment and wouldn’t mind a bit more of it.

I beat you to this quote about a month ago. Couldn't agree more. Thought he played a different role inside more today and still got 30 touches. His efficiency was down from his usual lofty heights, he had been sensationally efficient for a first year player.

Yet let's wait for the media to squark on about his lack of disposal efficiency compared to other first-year players that get it half as much in twice as much space.

He won't win the RS due purely to it being a media award - but who gives a **** I wouldn't swap him for any other first year players - not in a million years - is exactly what we need and the best genuine first-year player since Jesus.

Nah we change the slogan

Mens sana in Corpore Silvagni

Just watching it on delay, impressed by how good our fwd 50 pressure was.

I'm sure the weather/slippery ball was a factor, but we locked the ball in well and Freo defenders resorted to myriad hack kicks or rushed ball exiting their D50. Resulted in many repeat entries for us.

We have been letting teams waltz out of the backline too ******* long. This was an amazing improvement.

I like it. I like it a lot!

What about all the much maligned guys today?

Weiters
LOB
Murph
Cas

PS Setters resolved my (minor) concerns about him today. Gonna be a gun.
You're right on setters. He picked up a skidding ball late in the last opposite the broadcast side and dished it off to curnow who fumbled but the pick up was elite.
2020 pre season is massive for him

We had 17 i50's straight at one point...17!

Teague has mentioned in the presser a 'tweak' he had made is pushing up more than under Bolton and trying to lock the ball in our half...we are seeing the benefit of this.

Under Bolts we regularly lost the i50 count by quite some margin...that has changed so far under Teague. And i'm much preferring this style of play.

Impact of the big tractor massively under-rated again. He killed that lard-boy all day and gave our midfield an armchair ride. Haven't seen stats but reckon it was 20 odd hitouts to advantage. Huge in the result

Fat boy pushed him square in the back about half a dozen times. Gerard Healy onto it in the commentary but moron umpires did nothing. Kruse smart enough to change his start position at the boundary throws to counter dirty tactics.

People forget that this kid is coming off a knee reconstruction, no preseason and hasn't even played 15 AFL games yet.

He's coming along nicely.

Someone remind me of the year, maybe '93? We were in a a similar, but nowhere near as bad situation as far as the position of the club is concerned, We went on a road trip to the West and beat the Weagles in a thriller. 1 point maybe? My recollection is that sos played forward, at least in the last qtr, and took one of those typical diving marks and goaled for the win. It was the beginning of the rise up to a Premiership. It was the catalyst of belief in their individual and collective abilities.

Deja Vu repeating itself?

95 when Earl flattened Worsfold I think?
