What an amazing game to be at live, the SOS goal and the 'we're in this', the Daisy Thomas stunner to put us up! The heart break of the immediate reply, the tension of knowing there isn't much time to go. The crescendo (and it was a crescendo with all the WA Blue Baggers there) when Murphy snatched it back and the final heart wrenching moments before the siren. That is what footy is all about, that's what makes it worth it.

So many Blues fans at the game it was amazing.

O'Brien is the obvious example of the difference under Teague compared to Bolton, O'Brien looks to be having fun out there and playing on instinct. Not scared of stuffing up.

Loved his and the other players reaction to his hack kick out of the air that ended up being marked by a teammate inside 50. Reckon 5 weeks ago he would have been ****ting himself for Bolton's reaction but yesterday they were all having a laugh about it.

To be fair I believe Bolton did the right thing by him. He needed to (and still needs) to work on his defensive side and run both ways. Introducing him to AFL football whilst doing a simple team role was great for his development. If he had walked into the side and played his natural role he wouldn't be what he is now IMO. Lochie always knew where he stood and why he was doing it and that he was a part of the future.

Bottom line is I believe Bolton did the young players a lot of good. My only issue was he didn't find the balance for them. He was so much about the future. Every so often they need to be "released" and play a bit more their natural game. He also should have had the mature players doing a bit more of the hard work on ball. Teague has done that at the moment.

We will never know but what would have happened if we beat Collingwood, GCS & Hawks in those close games? It's such a fine line.

The key now for whoever coaches us is how to keep this spirit up whilst still developing the group. We are still very young and Kruezer Daisy Murphy Simpson don't have that long to go.

O'Brien Dow Setterfield SPS Gibbons Stocker Walsh Fisher Jack McKay Charlie DeLuca Kennedy Marchbank Cuningham Weitering Williamson TDK etc aren't even close to where they can get to. All of them.

What the past 3 weeks have shown is we have the talent. No doubt. Add some more quality at years end and we will really step up. We won't have trouble attracting players. There is so much upside it's ridiculous.

Gibbons kick off the ground deserves a half as well....

Instinctive yet creative....
absolutely, he's in for a half - and what about jack's clearance? goal was certainly half his at least......

have a look as to where he actually took the mark in comparison as to where he had to kick it from... WTF?? it's like he was mocking fyfe ;o)

Tell me about it. Made the angle much harder but JSOS delivered.

Melbourne (MCG) - must win
Sydney (SCG) - should push them, I've got it as a loss
Gold Coast (Marvel) - must win
Adelaide (MCG) - unlikely, but geez it would be sweet - probable loss
West Coast (Marvel) - likely loss
Richmond (MCG) - they're starting to get players back, and will be building towards finals, probable loss
St Kilda (MCG) - must win
Geelong (GMHBA) - if they're clear on top who knows what they'll do at the selection table, still likely a loss

Those three wins are the baseline. Gets us to 15th on the ladder if other results go the way I'm expecting. They're all effectively 8 point games, being against other bottom 6 sides. Win and we jump teams, lose and we slip too far behind. Also have us two games and percentage behind the Doggies in 14th, so unlikely to get any higher.

Beating the sides we should beat is a must, can't keep dropping intensity in those games.
Push a few higher sides and show that we're getting close to their level.
Get one "surprise" win against a top 8 side and generate some buzz.

Brisbane (2018) - 5 wins, 89%

2-4 more wins and we've exceeded what they managed, and there's the selling point to someone like Coniglio.
