Is there a game this week?;):p

Andrews is the obvious out, probably for McStay if fit, but if he isn't fit, does Frost get a run for his third game, perhaps if so, if Gardiner is also an out?

If Robinson is right, I'm guessing it will be for a young fella, but which one, I'm not sure.

In: McStay, Frost, Robinson, Beams.
Out: O-Mac, Andrews, Rayner, Bailey.

Robertson Gardiner Hodge
Rich Frost Witherden

Cutler Robinson Taylor

D. Beams Hipwood Mayes
McStay Walker Zorko

Foll: Martin, Matho, Berry.

Int: Lester, Clugg, Bundy, C.Beams

O-Mac probably not quite there yet for mine with how we are as a group going forward. He’s not able to clunk big marks and the mids aren’t exactly helping him.

Frost in as he’s been serviceable in the two’s, Freo don’t have a dominating tall forward and I don’t particularly want to move McStay back. It’s time to keep persisting with him up forward.

Rayner and Bailey looked tired against the Giants. Give them a week in the reserves and reward the form of Claye Beams and bring back Robbo assuming he is fit.

I’d like to see Beams and Zorko spend a lot of time forward in this game.

Out: Andrews, Gardiner (both inj.), Mayes
In: CBeams, McStay, Cox

FB: Walker, McStay, Hodge
HB: Cox, Hodge, Robertson
C: Taylor, Mathieson, Cutler
HF: CBeams, DBeams, McCluggage
FF: Hipwood, Lester, Rayner
Foll: Martin, Zorko, Berry
Int: Witherden, Rich, Christensen, Bailey

In the mix: round 15
Brisbane
Get them in:
After missing last week with a shin injury, Dan McStay should be available this week, as should Mitch Robinson, who has missed two matches with a broken toe. Cedric Cox and Claye Beams were exceptional in the NEAFL.

Under the pump: Youngsters Cam Rayner and Zac Bailey were a little quiet at the weekend and it wouldn't surprise to see the Lions rest one of them for the long trip to Perth.

Medical room: Vice-captain Harris Andrews will be re-assessed in two weeks after copping his big hit against the Giants, while Darcy Gardiner will have to get through training to prove he has fully recovered from an ankle niggle.

Verdict: Seems pretty straightforward with McStay an ideal replacement for Andrews, shuffling Josh Walker back to the forward line, and Robinson also to come in for one of the younger players to give them a rest. – Michael Whiting

Fremantle
Get them in:
Michael Walters has served his one-game suspension and will return to the line-up against Brisbane, while Alex Pearce is a very slim chance to return from a broken thumb.

Under the pump: Veteran Hayden Ballantyne is under pressure to retain his spot, while youngsters Ryan Nyhuis and Darcy Tucker were quiet against Carlton.

Medical room: Pearce and Bradley Hill will have to undergo tests to prove their fitness for this weekend, although Hill still has to serve his one-game suspension for breaching the club's alcohol policy.

Verdict: Walters to replace Ballantyne. Pearce will return if he's cleared to play, but that appears unlikely, with one of Nyhuis and Tucker to make way for the star defender. – Ben Guthrie

Wouldn't mind seeing Dawson get a game forward n giving Rayner a rest. I am sure Hodge would have been scheduled for a rest this weekend....but if Gardiner doesnt get up he should be a must.

Wonder if Beams will stay home with the newborn

Fremantle will pump us this week.
Rest Beams, McStay, Rayner, Bailey and Hodge.

Like the side and the changes. But I reckon Bastinac as the emergency and the best player in the first half, before he was rested, is ahead of Claye Beams. Also a better like for like for Bailey or Rayner. Reasonable chance Robbo won't get up as well, which would still leave a spot for Claye.

Ugh, the official preview is coming but looks like it won't be up until Wednesday night. I'd like to claim it's all because I've been desperately busy but it's at least partly due to a recurrence of my Football Manager 2014 addiction. Stupid World Cup.

I'm assuming the players listed as tests are going to be available.

Outs- Harris Andrews(inj), Oscar McInerney(omitted), Zac Bailey(omitted).

Ins- Mitch Robinson, Dan McStay, Cedric Cox.

Luke Hodge, Josh Walker, Darcy Gardner.
Daniel Rich, Nick Robertson, Alex Witherden.

Stef Martin, Dayne Beams, Dayne Zorko.
Rhys Matheison, Jarrod Berry, Hugh McCluggage

Cameron Rayner, Dan McStay, Lewis Taylor.
Mitch Robinson, Eric Hipwood, Allen Christensen.

Cedric Cox(floater), Tom Cutler(back/wing), Ryan Lester(back/middle), Sam Mayes(fwd/wing).

If Bailey and Rayner keep their spot it wouldn't surprise me to see Mayes dropped again. I don't think he's done anything since returning to the seniors to change the coaches mind.

I'd go with

In: McStay (or Frost if McStays not fit), Robinson, Cox
Out: Andrews, Rayner and Hodge (rested)

Rest Hodgey, Lester plays his role and Cox can get reward for form and play down back

I don't think anybody provides the forward pressure Bailey does apart from maybe Keays but I'd rather not play him as a small forward.

If Gardiner is unfit then Bastinac plays and we only play 2 key forwards.

Lester play the Hodge role, come on jack, that would be like substituting in a Datsun 120Y for a Rolls Royce.

Hopefully they bring Cam McCarthy back (that ex GWS star) and we can play Roy on him.

Yer I know he did jack, he's not quite a Hodge level player though, is he?

I was being a tad sarcastic/facetious in my post, my attempted humor falls flat sometimes.

I don't think he has to be. On the weekend he was as good as Hodge has been for most of the season. We've got to rest Hodge at some point and I think this game is a good one. We'd have Rich, Witherden and Cox for precision kicking and run out of the backline. Lester would be more for direction, going third man up and covering on the bigger forwards and if he plays as well as he did last weekend he'll be hard to drop.

Also, as we saw in the first quarter against the Giants his versatility to play on a tall could come in handy.

He had a great first half, but I really didn’t notice him much in the second half.
But maybe I was a bit pissed off from what happened in the first (Harris/Thug) to really concentrate on the second.

I reckon Dawson's cards are stamped.
Also dont see why Hodgy would need a rest considering he had the bye last week. Play him while he is in good form. Do think Rayner and/or Bailey would need a rest but on a selfish pov l hope they dont because it will be the only time l get to see them.

Got to admit feeling flat after this week, hard to get excited and still worried about Harris Andrews, I so hope the kid is ok.

Outs; Andrews then Rayner and Daily get a weeks rest from the travel to freshen up and get their hands on the ball in the seconds. Id even tell them its only a weeks rest.

In's; Robbo, Eagles and Cox and I'd consider swapping Mayes for Beams he really has been consistent this year and offer more than Mayes on the score board.

McStay back if Gardnier doesn't make it.

Eagles is a confirmed injury for a few more weeks Clarky. I Don't think you could tell Rayner and Bailey it is only one week and straight back in, what if we have a great win and we play really well. I also wouldn't be playing them in the reserves, just have another rest if we omit them IMO.

Danny Daily (Daly) definitely needs a rest!
