They are strange. Can't imagine either coach thought Petracca or Charlie were best on, whereas one coach could have rated McDonald as best... weird that the other didn't think his game was any good though... and, frankly, I thought Petracca was pretty ordinary.Weird votes
Murphy must have 5+4
I'm guessing McDonald got 5
Oliver got 4
Petracca and Curnow 3&2 from each
Kreuzer and Jetta 1 each
Could have been Petracca or Curnow with the single 5
Hopefully Walks can get him off the KFC and super fit before the preseason.I don't think you're right.
Has displayed plenty of courage in the 2's at times, so it's not as though it isn't there.
Let's give the 20 year old, 6 gamer, a little bit of scope for improvement.

Good thinking - drop him for getting 35 touches and fumbling a few of them. That'll send a fantastic message to the playing group.
Then we can promote Boekhorst who got 30+ in the VFL, and when he skirts a contest we can drop him to send a message too.
Give Graham a go after that, and if he misses a couple of tackles he can go in the bin as well.
Message sent. Don't make mistakes. Ever. Doesn't matter how hard you try, if you miss a few kicks you can piss off to the VFL as punishment.
You're honestly deluded if you think we don't know our depth is ordinary. That's why we're rebuilding. Along the way there will be ordinary players who get games. The kids have boxes to tick in order to get their shot - SPS, Fisher, Williamson etc. were ticking the boxes early and have been promoted accordingly. It's more important to make sure Polson, McKay, Kerr etc. are doing their job properly before they get games, rather than them getting a go because Kerridge dropped a couple of marks.
Accept it and you'll be less likely to keel over mid-match.
A few observations:
Casboult (6 contested marks) and Curnow (4 contested marks) really provided us with some aerial dominance. Charlie's last three weeks have been off the charts... Scarily, he is already having a huge impact in games despite still retaining tremendous upside. He is a special player.
Thought SPS was terrific. 9 tackles and started to find plenty of the footy - needed to lift this week after some anonymous recent performances and he did. Fisher also very good with his pressure - I like that his 'baseline standard' is a consistent defensive offering, even if he doesn't impact much with ball in hand. I think that will follow naturally regardless. Thought Macreadie had some nice moments too and it was good to see him back in the seniors.
Doc was in absolute beast mode and you sensed he wanted to deliberately fill the void left by Cripps. Think we will see much more of him in the midfield for the rest of the season and he certainly doesn't look out of place around the stoppages.
Kreuz was once again terrific and continues his outstanding year. Casboult also impacted when chopping out in the ruck with some decisive hit outs to advantage - he's another who has put together a pretty good season.
Sheehan really struggled and seemed to be in panic mode whenever the ball went down there. Byrne was terrific in the twos so that looks like a logical swap for this week (White going down may see Sheehan given a reprieve for this week).
Weitering continues to battle. I am not as averse to trading him as others - we are nicely stocked with good talls and he would still have huge currency. We need more gun mids and if Weitering helped us land one it's not such a crazy notion, is it?
Re: Kerridge, it's almost as if both sides of the argument are correct. Yes his two clangers killed us, but he gets to so many contests and runs himself into the ground in a midfield severely lacking in running power. I thought he was good overall and given the current state of our midfield he certainly deserves to hold his spot.
I thought Boekhorst was excellent on Saturday in really taking the game on. I had him in the 'never again' basket after his recent foray into the seniors but if he could bring that same mentality into the seniors surely he'd have more of an impact? I'd like to see him given a month in the senior team (still very much likely to be delisted though).
Overall I thought it was a bloody good effort by the boys and there was much to take out of the game.
Also, Neville Jetta is a gun and would pretty much be the missing link in our otherwise complete backline.
EDIT: Also a special mention to Jed Lamb who I think played his best game for the club. Bizarre that some people were bagging him, he was one of our better players.
Uhh huh... seems your golden boy has admitted that he wasn't sworn at at all... fancy Oliver making more of something than it deserved...
Green shoots and all.....
i think menzel was a little bit of that while he played for us.
like troy, SOJ seems to remind me of a old NM player, craig sholl for some reason. medium forward type, but a bit silkier than craig, and more of a pure forward rather than a utility.
kicks a couple of goals in play in this clip (4:30 and 6:30), but he kicked plenty on the lead
Any chance Shandog and the Wook can host Mr Acquarium on this week's podcast?Yeh that's the one![]()
Triggeredyou're not a caretaker of shit - and can you put sjw in large font and bold it next time please?

Don't be too harsh on them. Not many of them are football supporters, they are mostly theatre-goers & the Demons at the moment, after being shit for 10 years, are like the latest production at Her Majesty's. Must get the 4WD out & get along & have a look at those fine chaps running around in their red & blue outfits. Might even recognise a couple of them who sip lattes at the same Espresso establishment.Wow there are some pathetic Melbourne supporters on their board, practically laughing at Cripps for getting injured.
So one of Curnow, McDonald or Petracca got 5 votes from one coach and zero from the other.Coaches' Votes

So it's been a 'dumb idea' to try jones in the back line? No different to trying Weitering down forward..Weitering is suffering from the way Bolton was playing him early in the season. He should have been kept as a backman. Didn't work as a fwd and has lost all confidence. Shadow of the player he was last year. He will bounce back but just a dumb idea to try him fwd.
3 players that cost us dearly with poor disposal were Kerridge, Sheahan, & Simpson (esp when caught on his right foot).
And there were so many other forgettable moments from a number of players.3 players that cost us dearly were Kruze ,Cas and Gibbs missing those GOALS>
He is just omnipresent. He has over 60k posts and is extinct, yet he is still around. Exception to the rule?
top postAbsolutely love Macreadie, one of my favorite players.
As thin as a rake, and has an unperturbed playing style.
He has a knack of popping up at crucial moments for us.
Absolutely love Fisher as well, a relentless tyke.
A lot of the players we've drafted have a distinct playing style, something sets them apart.
Very good summation, though point about Weitering would be contentious to say the least (he's a definite keeper in my book)! It's good so many players have had a taste now - after a full pre-season they'll all go up a couple of notches - will be great to see how we go in 2018, though still have several very winnable games this year to come!
He's a flog. Took a dive and is rightfully copping flak for it. Rather than just copping it like most people would, he's on the offensive - as a result, it's hard to see him shaking it for quite some time.I'm really starting to dislike some Melbourne players, first Jordan Lewis and now Oliver. Yeah, Oliver is a good player, but he really rubs me the wrong way. :/
