ummmmmmmmm yep - give him a break to let the calf heal. We do actually need him out there leading and supporting the young guys.
Pretty disappointing today, the team was flat as they came into the rooms, no chatter at all, heads down and then all the family was locked out... interesting. Was not a happy place in the rooms after, didn't head to the function... not too sure it would have been too fun!
Good news is that Big Harry isn't too bad, said he was 'hopefully' playing VFL next week and is aiming for a crack in the 1's in early August. Charlie is chomping at the bit to get back in. LOVE their attitudes - they want to be part of it... They WANT to help turn this around.
Noticed Daisy's calf tape pretty early - did he start under a cloud?
I had glandular fever at a similar age to young Ed and I was fit back then but found that every little bug going around hit me hard for the next 12mths - they will be monitoring him carefully I am sure (ps It affects people in many different ways/symptoms)

Most people predicted that we'd get around 4-5 wins this year and barely finish above the Bombers.

We have 6 wins and will most likely win 2 more (Bris and Ess), giving us 8 wins, double what was predicted by a lot of 'experts' at the start of the season.

We are in a rebuild and we were playing a team fighting for a top 4 finish. Realistically, 10 goal loss seems about right. We still have a LOT of work to do and a LOT of player development/list management.

We have had some really promising wins and we can't forget that. We beat the Pies, the Cats and Port. We also knocked off Freo in Perth.

I think its about time we drop these older blokes now and bring in the youngsters for the rest of the season. Time to give KJ a go and get Curnow, Cuningham and McKay out there ASAP.

On the respective form of all three teams in this round, and our form after the break, we will be lucky to beat Bris and Essendon. Sad fact. We better get something resembling a forward line if we are to achieve that feat!

I disagree. Weitering put teammates under pressure with some ordinary handballs and kicks. I think this is a result of him feeling the pressure brought on by exhaustion. You can have the deciding vote. How do you think he went today?
I didn't see the game. But putting a first year player into a backline that is constantly under siege and expecting him to perform like a seasoned defender is patently silly. Why doesn't the MC give the kid a break ( and the supporters too for that measure) and play him up forward in a few games? And don't say that team structure objectives prevent that. There must be another player who can go into defence.

I believe Cringle suggested that, i.e. Jaksch.

And from what I read of this Foster kid, I hope he gets a third year on the list - a gun TAC Cup goalkicking machine who sacrificed his natural game to play as a defender in the VFL so that the likes of Gorringe, Jones, Silvagni, Jaksch and Korcheck could spend time forward.

DVR can't possibly get a call up with a 9 possession vfl game. That doesn't warrant a game and that's obviously the reason blokes like white walker and everitt are still in the team.

I also believe when we were winning we had 2 KPF instead of Cas copping the double and triple team knowing we have no other option

I think that they are planning on bringing in Jamo for a couple of weeks to give Weitering a rest... hence Jamo's recovery.

This was working during our 5 wins from 6 games, but has become less effective because our work rate is down. Our forwards, & to an extent our midfielders, are not working hard enough to present an option when we make a switch therefore enabling the opposition to get numbers across to cut off such moves.

Or have they figured us out? Maybe a little of both?

Its not about the wins...its about platforms going forward.. U might lose more games next year.

Playing kreuzer and Phillips in the same side mean we are literally playing one man down for the entire game.

Add in the fact that Casboult, Cripps, Thomas and Weitering are all no where near 100% fit and you can see why we lose by 10 goals to the crows.

A 2015 Cripps, supported by Murphy and Jeager O'Meara (who we trade for pick 4 + Everitt) plus a fit Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay chopping out for a fit Casboult and Boekhurst running the lines, then we win this game. Comfortably.

Yep
20 easy
Some are old and dusted
Some are not up to the grade
Some lack heart
I think we might see a couple of 1 year contracts at years end. Just so we don't overhaul half our list at years end.

Every chance that jaegar is cooked

The Coach said Weitering was excellent today. Which of the two of you is correct???
I am. Weitering took some really important intercept marks, mostly contested. His kicking was spot on, except on two occasions, one he kicked into the man on the mark, the other fell just short of his target, but otherwise he was pinpoint.
He made plenty of spoils and tackles and put on plenty of pressure.
He did all this whilst being asked to play on Walker, Lynch, Jenkins and Eddie at different stages.
He was fantastic in my view.
