Crisp and Bewick both spuds today Bewick did at least have a good last quarter, no doubt Lester shouldn't have been replaced. I don't think he was injured. Moloney we will see what happens with him, makes for an interesting game next week I'm not sure we will be mentally ready for it it happened to us last year, so a win against the Saints will help improve our mental strength.

AFL fixturing certainly didn't do us any facours. Players clearly didn't have much left towards end of game. Suspect if we hadnt been coming off a game in Darwin last weekend would have been a fair chance to win that in last qtr...

Is Patfull in trouble for that last little bloody incident...held him down by arm on the throat...but where did the blood come from, didn't see any head clash or anything?
The Port players head clashed with Patfull's jaw.

He'll be fine.

Was there a reason given why Lester didn't play?

Watch it again. Eberts head wasn't on the ground. If you see the reverse angle it's clear he had a handful of jumper & was simply sticking the tackle. It looked interesting on the first shot, but nothing wrong with it at all.

We were outclassed? Piss off, we were out umpired.

12 more kicks, 24 more handballs, 12 more tackles, 28 more contested possessions, 9 more scoring shots... Reckon we were outclassed.

Great tackle too.

I'd keep Bewick in the side, probably because I didn't watch the first half where he was apparently poor. Made a really poor error, but I thought he kept presenting, and did have some shots at goal. Got a bit of the ball too, which is a good effort playing half forward.

Not that I disagree with you TBD.

But how many of those Kicks/handballs/scoring shots would have been a direct result from the extra 11 free kicks?

Makes you wonder.

I didn't get to watch the game. Was Rich on a very tight tag? 14 disposals from him is a very poor return. Did Moloney hurt himself again? I read on the AFL app he hurt his hamstring.

Well that makes the assumption that all 11 of those free kicks were unwarranted...

I wasn't directing that at anyone here, mainly at the commentators.

Yep. I don't think Port were dominant but they were marginally the better side.

Yep, scoreboard in the end reflected the tightness of the contest and the fact the Port were just a bit more classy when it mattered.

Kane Cornes followed Rich around all day, and beat him comfortably. Cornes picked up 19 or so possessions himself.

Moloney seemed to grab at his buttock area (upper hamstrings) late in the game, did walk off alright though. Did seem like a classic hamstring, but hopefully it's cramp.

Thought Port were also more classy in that they were able to string possessions together without fumbling like we did.

Not good to be smashed in tackle count when they had the ball more than us

Nope, but it skews the stats.

As POBT said, I don't think they were dominant but just that tad bit better.

Still, they should have won regardless, their kicking offset the umpires.

I think we did well to run out the game so well, and not letting Port run away with it. Port have been been strong in fourth quarters this year, played at Etihad Stadium last week and home this week. We've been up to Darwin which is notorious for it's draining conditions, and then had to follow it up by playing away again (thanks AFL). Both had 8 day breaks too.

Absolutely:thumbsu: Well done boys!!!

It's the little things...
Speaking of little things:

Adcock and Bewick losing control after bouncing the footy.

Our inability to kill the footy close to our goals.

Blazing away in the last quarter.

And something not so little - disappointing to lose the tackle count when we had a lot less footy.
