woolshed could be the go - only downside is it's 70 metres from the ground............

Does it have big TVs tho? Can't find much on their social media. Just seems they're close location based.

Stuff socialising. Can do that in between quarters at the stadium.

Haha, I tried.

Can anyone recommend a good pub to watch the game in Melb? Either CBD or inner north? I haven't lived in the city for a while. I remember the Great Northern being good...Can't get to the game as catching up with some mates. As a compromise we're going somewhere where we can do both.
If you want the CBD then the Duke isn't bad but I'd certainly rather be at the Rose hotel or Great Northern.

Going on the current injury update today :-

For me

IN: Weiters, Stocker (available for selection)

OUT: Goddard (out for 1-2 weeks), Lang

Cunners still 1 week away.

Goddard - Cheek - 1-2 weeks (surgery)
Weitering - Nose - Available (didn't quite come up last week)
Cuningham - Knee - 1 week (conditioning block required, will return next week)
McGovern - Managed - TBA (carrying injuries through games, too much training missed, sacrificing appearances in order to re-establish fitness)
C.Curnow - Knee - 1-2 weeks (back running, conditioning block to come)
Stocker - Foot - Available
OUT: Goddard, Lang
IN: Weitering, Deluca

Maybe De Koning for Kennedy as well, who probably needs to take the confidence in his body that he's gained the last couple of outings and lift his running standards in a midfield role via the VFL. Deluca for Lang is a bit line ball, and may not happen depending on how they feel Lang's body is pulling up.

Deluca looks decidedly better through congestion in the corridor, and when spotting up forward targets. Lang at his best is perhaps better in that respect, but his ankle and foot concerns seem to persist and hinder his performances.

Nice, means Dow and Lang retain their spots for the week, which is not a terrible thing.

While he does some nice things he isn't getting big numbers in the VFL as a starting Mid and is not playing the role Lang is in the VFL. I wouldn't promote Deluca until he is getting closer to 30 possessions.

I would like to see Lang get 2 or 3 more games so we give him every chance before any decisions are made at the end of the year. Last thing we need is revolving door selections.

Any chance Stocker comes straight back in?

Probably not, but I really want to see him play in our "new" system
I'd like to actually see him play a game in midfield in the VFL before picking him, because we do not want him in defence.

It's a pity that De Luca hasn't been banging the door down.
Some solid performances but maybe not quite enough.
I don't think the wet conditions have helped his cause.
TDK needs more conditioning aswell.
Great to see Gov getting the focused training attention he needs.
Agree with most people's thoughts on the changes:
OUT: Goddard, Lang
IN: Weitering, Stocker
Almost like for like.
Can't wait to see us do well on Saturday.

Lang wasn't playing that role in the VFL either...

The aspects that are relevant, Deluca is doing better, but whether he can apply as much forward pressure is the real question. Like I said, if Lang pulls up fine, he's a good chance to stay in.

I thought that Lang was better last week than he was the previous. It might pay a dividend to invest more into him with his selection dependent on him contributing more each week.

Happy to keep Lang in. Needs to do more but he did a few neat things that led to a score involvement.

Stocker is not an auto in after coming back from injury and does not play the same position as Lang...he can come back through the VFL.
Deluca looks promising but hasn't done quite enough, and again has been playing mid not forward. Guy only just joined the club and didn't do an AFL pre-season...let's not throw him to the wolves.
Cunners is injured.

Equals Lang stays in this week imo.

Re Lang that goal and role in getting Harry that goal in last qtr has saved him for this week you’d think, but some welcome depth with those lads if it hasn’t. At last some desperation from him!
I'm in 2 minds about Lang.

Part of me agrees with you, especially the last qtr effort. The other goal looks good on the stats sheet but doesn't really move the needle about his ability you'd think.

Therefore I think if we play him the rest of the year, we give him a fair chance to show whether he's got chops at senior level or not. He appears to have goal sense and speed. His athletic profile says he should be able to lay some tackles. I pictured a poor man's devon smith when we recruited him. Fk Essendon lol.

The other part of me thinks he is butchers more possessions than your local deli and the opportunities are better given to guys like Deluca/Owies/Stocker.
