So Cutler is a definite out.

I'd be looking at bringing in Bastinac or Mayes for Cutler.

As for Andrews inclusion, I'd omit McInerney and swing Walker forward.

O has been voted 3rd best on ground in the review thread. I didnt vote for him but you'd say it's unlikely he'll be dropped

This is what I think will happen not necessarily what I would like to see happen. The match committee have shown that they like to go with minimal changes.

Ins- Luke Hodge, Harris Andrews.

Outs- Tom Cutler, Cedric Cox.

They may omit Josh Walker instead of Cedric Cox depending on how they see the match ups working out, also Cutler and Cox out seriously lowers our overall pace.

Bailey could come in. Last out, first back in?

Push Squizzy to the wing and Bailey forward

Maybe Cox will get a go further up the ground and take Cuts spot on the wing and Hodge will come in for him.
Andrews then comes in for Lester.

Reckon these outs & ins are the obvious move. Nick Robbo moves up to Cuts' role. Just leaves us a bit tall.

It also depends on the weather down in Geelong on Saturday.
If the weather is good (as of today, they predict 15 deg and sunny) then I could see Hodge and Andrews in for Cutler and Barrett
I have Barrett out as I would like to see Cox play more up the field (wing / small forward)

If the weather is not so good (rain) then I could see one of Walker/Oscar out and Barrett keeps his spot.
Good to see that we have a few good options coming in.

I would like to see:
Out - Cutler, Cox
In - Andrews, Allison

Playing Hodge (especially with Harris back) is less of a priority than games into Allison. If Hodge plays, then presumably Lester goes.

Bastinac was leaving the Gabba when we arrived on Saturday and was limping quite badly. Looked like he would have needed a fair bit of work to be ready for this week. Maybe that's why he wasn't sticking around for the main game.
Yeah that makes sense because his stats we're really stagnant for the 2nd half... not sure he touched it after half time. Nunez said he went forward, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play at all in the 4th. I haven't watched the replay of the 2nd half yet, will probably get to it tomorrow.

I'd be surprised if Cox is tried in a new position in the ones, without at least trialling it in the twos. If he's going to play wing or forward it would be better if he went back and demonstrated that he could do it and developed some confidence in the role. There are number of people on this board who don't think Cox has the attributes of a small forward and is better if led to the ball. I'm not completely sure if they're right, but it would be throwing him to the wolves to play him forward in the ones without preparation. Bewick has been playing the wing role in the twos with Allison playing off half back. Both are probably better options that Cox for Cutler's role. Bastinac (if fit) has the form and class to come in, but it sounds like he might have an injury. Going on selection this year, I don't think going tall will worry Fagan. It wasn't long ago when we had Eagles, Andrews, Hodge & Gardiner in the backline.

I've not missed a game down at Kardinia Park for well over 15 years and will again be trekking down the highway this Saturday and this is the first in a long time that I have a semblance of optimism heading down, despite not expecting a win.

Playing down at KP must be exciting for our Geelong Falcons cohort presently in the team - Hodge (if he plays), Christensen, Walker, Gardiner, Taylor, Witherden and Mathieson and I dare say we may have more local lads / Falcons in our team than the Geelong Cats do.

The crowning glory for mine would be the addition of an eighth Falcon in November with Sam Walsh joining the Lions.

And famous Lions supporters from Geelong like philcara16 and Monkey Daniel (and me). Could have missed others...

I’m not from Geelong (have good friends in Ocean Grove though) but always make the trip down...Kardinia Park reminds me of going to the footy like when I was a kid; that real suburban feel, although it’s changing a little.

The thinner ground will be a real test of our skills
