There's an element of a poor gameplan on show though. It almost reminds me of what we used to do under Connolly - too much zoning, not enough direct pressure on the ball carrier. The monster disparity in tackles inside 50 is evident of that - and today's game is not a one off, it's happening most weeks. Add to that our iron will in always going out the back when we get the ball in stoppages - even when we end up with a clear possession, by going out the back if gives the opposition the time and space to set up 50m away and we struggle to find a teammate.

Even if we get our skills up to scratch it's hard to see this style of play winning a flag.
