You know we're more likely to wait until they're in space then kick it straight over their head to the trailing defender.

It should be both

Players leading to the ball carrier or fat side of the ground

Ball carriers should also be hitting space to advantage of a forward

Hawks only won the inside 50s by one as well.

It was a lack of skill and scoring power that did it in the end.

You can put it down to many aspects

Fatigue, location of shot, composure/pressure, routine, skill set, selfishness, etc, etc

Even if a couple of those misses were goals or TDK's goal wasn't disallowed...the game gets interesting.

The big one for me was Motlop's soccer which brushed the post - that's a goal and we are 16 points up with 2 minutes to go in the 2nd and the ball in the centre square - but it gets called a point and the Hawks immediately take it the length of the ground and score a goal against the tide and the margin is just 5 points and we have lost momentum

The 19 men on the field fiasco aside (should have been a guaranteed goal), the misses by TDK and JSOS early in the 3rd quarter, were both utter momentum stoppers....
