just a matter of setting things up so we can put this sort of effort in every week.
And that has been something we've struggled to do consistently. Let's hope that changes. This win might give them some belief back.
Langdon was his usual excellent self.

If he goes it will be a massive loss.
Definitely think he will be one who's a case of 'you don't know what you've got until its gone'.
That said, it'd be nice if he could improve his kicking a smidgen.

It was great when Darcy has a one-on-one in the forward line rather than 3 big guys standing in the same pack. He did well to bring it to the ground in front of him.

Have to persist with Switkowski even if he doesn't hit the score board. His smother in the last quarter was unbelievable.

And I agree that Cerra was great.

Great win, and you can see Cerra is coming along very nicely indeed. More middle time please! I’ve never understood what Duman was about....couldn’t see him contributing much going forward but happy to report that I see it now. He has a lovely kick and good vision; wonder how fast he is.... if he could play more of a wing position maybe?

after watching it live here are my thoughts

positives
Carter will become our lock down small defender we have been looking for myers didnt get near it, has the pace and height for the role.
Hill spending significant time starting at half forward (admittedly he roamed far and wide from that position) helped our forward fifty entries.
Tucker and brayshaw had a lot of centre square bounce starts was a huge plus.
our mosquito fleet of crowden, matrea, switta, shultz, banfield brought the pressure.
mundy forward is great as he looks gased but elite ball skills in and around forward fifty is great.
conca onto duncan hurt them so good coaching.
dumans kicking damn.
our young backline duman, hughes, carter, logue, cerra and hamling.

negatives
Tom stewart got off the chain a lot
Cerra wasnt used at all as a midfielder but could be because of injuries to backline.
Ablett man could have cut us up multiple times wiley old man always seemed to find the dangerous space thought it was our pressure on the ball carrier that Prevented them from capitalizing on it.
Geelong are gased so less impressive win.
Logue chose between ablett and a player on the fifty when a geelong player was having a shot from the pocket. Always chose the closer to goal option man.

Who would think losing Lobb, Wilson and Ryan could lead to this?

Because:
- Hughes at 91% DE, has responded from being dropped and stamped his claim back again.
- Switowski laying 9 Tackles and putting the heat on up front.
- 2 goals and an important goal assist from Crowden which turned the tide before half time.
- 29 incredible pressure acts from Darcy.

It's easy to look at the big moments and fail to notice the lesser things which add up to something significant.

Also, who would think when you don't play players who can barely run and kick that it might help your team overall ...

The midfield pressured and scrapped, made the ball going into our defence really dirty and made it easier on the defenders.

We had such a great game in regards to the short handball, the quick handball and the lucky bounce that went to hand.

It created a lot of space for us.

The cats set up long and we hit targets short. Nicely done.

The last two weeks have been beyond perception with the WA media, the late 90s was pre-population and mining boom so the Drum era never received the same heights as what Lyon and the club have gone through recently.

I'd liken it to paranoid schizophrenia with a side dose of tinnitus, the voices shouting from every corner bounce between the walls and send Shockwaves between both ear drums. Newspapers, radio, social media, hack journalists, Eagles friends, Freo family members, you can't escape it.

Winning against this tide was sheer incredulity.

Does it mean massive changes are no longer needed? No way. Assistant coaches, medical staff and other deadwood need to be cut away wholesale at the end of the year.

There's still massive problems with this list skill wise, injury wise and off field problems.

We are still a long shot from finals this year and who knows what fans and the club will endure throughout 2020.

But tonight is special because we know this team still means something to the players, the journey of success is still so integral. Certainly, we may lose a few this year or next year that we'd prefer to keep. But tonight they played with the passion and energy of people who deeply respect their coach, their fans and more importantly each other and themselves.

Many of the older players are completely gassed, Mundy only got 8 touches but his 2 cameo goals were pure clutch. And Crowden and Carter were completely out of their depth and didn't take their foot off the pedal. Brayshaw and Cerra have been baptized by fire the last 2 years and running on less than fumes, but they've willed their teenage bodies to enter beast mode in a Man's game. Brayshaw who had his jaw shattered in a million pieces and was stuttering around like a ghost in the beginning of the year has overcome his deepest fears and thrown all of himself into each and every play he falls into.

It's worth getting a little teary over, because the club isn't going to sink into the dribbling basket case so many of us have resigned it to just yet, even though thousands have almost collectively willed it.

Just for tonight, you remember why it's too hard to bury this club once and for all.
