Agree.
Reckon he's found a place as the run with tagger since Ed went down.
He covers a lot of ground out there, and is quick enough to find an opponent when they have the pill.
Granted his disposal can be utterly baffling at times, but he's getting it 25 times, and is laying tackles.
Anyone mention how solid Kerridge was?
May be a keeper.

The big improvement in his game is that he isn't fumbling like we was earlier in the season. He is a good kick and has good hands overhead and seems to have adjusted to the pace of the game (earlier in the season he didn't seem to have adjusted to the pace of seconds footy). He had a great game.
His tackling and running was outstanding...he was putting on some really tough tackles.
And his disposal was solid as well except for the one i50 where he kicked it to no one and it went out of bounds.
ECurnow & Kerridge, whilst on the ground, regularly manage to make it to the next contest.
They may not always win it, but allow others to do so.
Mussolini achieved. He made the trains run on time.Thing with Boeky is he's kicking his goal a week (though he carried on like Mussolini), and if he can turn that into a couple ........may turn out ok.
He's kinda sorta winning me over.
Going forward can they play in the same side? Big call if everyone is fit and firing
Yeah I did. See my first post in this thread. Gave Kedge a huge TICK.Anyone mention how solid Kerridge was?

I reckon Ed could play a small defender role. Recollect a game where he had Boomer as his opponent.Going forward can they play in the same side? Big call if everyone is fit and firing
Maybe not. I don't know.
In a roundabout way, I'd like to think not, but we do need some grunt around stoppages.

I sit back and think next year - when a pre-season is into SPS/Pickett/Charlie and Cripps and Ed are back - more run and more grunt - West Coast are in trouble in midfield - Kennedy pulled a few out of his bum to make the difference against a very under manned side- no way they get the repeat free and easy breaks from center bounces to win the match in the final quarter with Cripps and Ed on field as part of rotations.
Carlton might 'win a spoon' but the side is on the way up - lack of depth might deliver a spoon not crappy play or lack of endeavour.
The team that didn't play on the weekend:
Byrne Rowe White
Macreadie Marchbank Sheehan
Phillips Cripps Cuningham
Sumner ECurnow Palmer
Polson Jaskch Kerr
Sumner McKay Lebois
Buckley Graham ASilvagni Gallucci
And there lies the rub.In my case, I don't do Facebook, Twitter nor care to be influenced by others' opinions and have put forward my observations of Weitering.
I also 'feel' that some of those observations wouldn't have simply slipped by Bolton......I'm pretty sure of that.
Seems to me that we're pushing to develop a group-think that there's simply nothing wrong with Weiterings current game.
Some have even gone as far as to suggest that Bolton did the wrong thing by wanting to turn him into a forward.
I can't, nor care to speak for others, but I'm surprised that many don't see anything wrong with Weiterings current output.
Yes, he has injuries but so do many others. No excuse for not giving 100%. Cripps played for weeks with broken rubs.
Weitering also has a propensity to 'highlight' his injuries and that will have to be knocked out of him.
I think Weitering is better than he has been showing to date......like much better, so let's not set our standards too low by making excuses for him.
And there lies the rub.
You seem to have formed an impression of Weitering that he doesn't give 100%, due to injury or mental weakness or whatever reason. Then, when people disagree with that impression - many of them - and highlight a good performance, you label it 'groupthink'.
It's fine to form your own impressions, but diametries are intellectually lazy. It isn't a with em, against us sort of a thing, therefore people who disagree with you are not participating in a 'groupthink' any more than you are for agreeing with other people that Weits is lazy.
I think Weits is great, but could be a generational talent; you seem to think the same. What's the argument here?
It's pretty clear why people point to metres covered when discussing a player like Weitering; like Nick Riewoldt, he covers a huge amount of territory. Secondly, he's had a down month/month and a half, and has had people calling him disinterested, among other things, with others saying he doesn't work hard enough or doesn't care. Metres gained is a means of disproving some of those criticisms, which brings me back to what I said.Yes, I do and I'll tell you why. I put forward a view based on observation and in return we get.....well, have a look at the last few pages.
Not many care to discuss the points raised, but sooner applaud how many meters he has covered. What does that even mean? We know he's an athlete.
Like I said, I don't know nor care what others think and I may well be wrong, but I see a reason for Bolton to have some concerns about Weiterings development. I have nothing against Jacob and he'll develop into a wonderful footballer, but the concerns, as minor as they may be, are exactly what I'd say to his face, should I have the opportunity.
As much as a love the bloke ..the signs have been there for a few Games now ..his decision making and disposal have been wanting at times . will be a sad day when he no longer runs out with the TeamIf this is the end for Simmo, it would be good for the supporters that he gets a farewell game in Melbourne so we can pay tribute. Alternatively he may be given the extra year on the proviso that he plays maybe 14 games. Let's not forget that he absolutely starred in the first half of the year but has gradually faded. He'll be fantastic in a developmental/mentoring role.
And there lies the rub.
