Review Rd 22 Review - Freo Do Enough to Win over WC

Our midfield absorbed an absolute battering and prevailed. Take a bow Brayshaw, Serong, Brodie and Mundy.

Darcy was a tower of strength.

Pearce was awesome down back. Clark and Aish were excellent.

Up front, Lobb was an absolute liability tonight. So pissed he stayed on after an obvious injury.

Chief is a Carlton supporter, hence the huge server meltdown.

Possibly Mundy's best game of the year, so cool under pressure.
Darcy laying waste to Fatanui. Even Logue was decent on him.
Serong et al for laying it down when it kicked off

Neg
Forwards apart from Walters, particularly Lobb being a squib and the coaches not taking him off.
Not lowering the eyes to kick it short inside 50, instead just bombing it for an inevitable Barrass mark.
Nelson's face

Carlton killing our (faint) top 4 hopes, but also killing their finals hopes. Double Agent Cerra is doing a great job.

Kozi Pickett kicks a goal to win the game for Melbourne. We don't seem to have any natural goal kickers in out forward line.

Until the club starts investing in goal kickers we are going to be an aalmost side. Logue tries his guts out but has no goal sense which would be fine if he was the only one but it is a forward line crying out for class.

Bank the win and move on.

Acres & Darcy real positives, Sonny was dangerous (still needs to forget about playing for kicks), backs we’re pretty solid most of the night, Cox needs to watch Pearce to see how you play as a key back & midfield in general withstood a lot of pressure & were very dominant.
Once again in a pressure game, Mundy looked like time stood still.

You're right that Lobb was a liability but it's hardly the sign of a pea heart to play through what is obviously a significant injury, and it's not his fault that he stayed on, it's the fault of the coach.

- WC turn up with the most heat they have all year. It was fiery early but we put them back in their box

- We did what we needed to do, bad kicking aside we pretty much controlled the second half.

- Nice to start a bit of a streak against the scum

- Home final at the least locked in

- Gonna be a nervous watch for a few of the remaining games of the season with top 4 still on the line. With a couple games going against us already; we’re running out of chances but Swans/Pies, Pies/Blues, Melb/Bris and Swans/Saints still present opportunities.

Partly. But it's obvious Lobb is playing for himself. He should have come off as soon as he got hurt. It was his call at that point. Once he made the call to stay out there he had to compete. But he didn't compete. He pulled out of contests. He let Barass run all over him.

Possibly the best way for Carltank to miss finals. I’m fine with it.

If Collingwood win tomorrow then we just need to win next week to make top 4, since Brisbane and Melbourne play each other and Sydney can't catch us.

So get on the pies.
