If it's not us then I'd rather North than Carlton. Though that would mean it could have been us. I'm so conflicted!

Yeah, I hear you.

But I think my hatred of Carlton emotion is just winning out.

So Go Port!!**

Go North!!

**just typing that took tremendous willpower:oops:

Kind of happy with the result...

Poisoned chalice to take essendanks position in the finals IMO.....and fear we may have come down and got spanked by the tigers....

We should have won against the bulldogs, crows, port and tigers and we would have already been locked in for a top 8 possie....

Having said that the wins against essendank and geelong were fantastic....

To go down the way we did....to the wire at SS is ****ing awesome.....the football world has been put on notice!

Lisle went ok. His goal kicking has improved out of sight.

Over the last few years our coaching staff have certainly been able to turn less than certain set shots into goal kickers. Clark, Sauce and Lisle pop to mind with Leuie improving.

Dylan, you seem really determined to be a killjoy ATM. Can't speak for others, but it's becoming a bit wearying.

Surely that's what the ignore list is for TFB and if you and anyone feels that way, then use it! Didn't realise everything was so rosy at the club right at the minute.

I know no-one has said anything, but I'd be disappointed if anyone blames Lester for the loss. Another performance where he gave his all and left it all out on the park.

Enjoyed the game...can't be too harsh on lester, was being dragged down while he kicked.. He had a good game too. Loved Maloney's 2nd half and rocky just racks em up, really important for us. Adcock frustrates me, plays a good loose man and really provides the run when we a stagnant, but two bad disposals led to Geelong goals.

Also ump blew the whistle too early, it seemed like if that situation had happened at any other point in the game, he would have waited to see if the ball came out and played a free if it didn't. And despite the protestations of some cats supporters on the other boards, that ball was never coming out of that pack.

Yeah the whole early ball up call dodgy. Dived on it, then raked it in. But far worse ref calls throughout game.

McGrath was brilliant and again proved his worth. Remember, no Black, Merritt or Brown in that game.....

So who is off contract now? Who is likely to go? Confirmed or probable.. not speculating... can you guys confirm....only those out of contract....
Might retire: Black, Brown
Traded: Karnezis,
Delisted:
Unsure: Polec, Michael,

I know a lot of us are all doom and gloom about our prospects today and I think 99% of us, including myself, feel that way. It is for this reason that I am going to do an optimistic, positive post:D

Leuy, Rich, Hanley, Redden, Zorko and Rockliff must stand up today! They all need to realise that they are the leaders of this club now and our success today relies on them. If these 6 players can all play at a high level we are in with a shot of giving the Cats a little scare. At the end of the day though, it is one, big, united team effort that is needed. Our players will need to be ferocious and attack the ball with ferocity. They need to apply pressure all day and run hard both ways.

Our players will be very sore today but they need to realise that AFL finals can be a very rare experience in your career (Just ask Matthew Richardson) and they therefore need to push through the pain barrier for 2 hours out on the field, leave nothing out there by the time the full time siren goes, and walk off with their heads held high after a rollercoaster season, possibly with the 4 points. We have nothing to lose but every little bit to gain. Now is the time to rise to the occasion. Do it for Vossy and the fans boys!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LIIIIOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I just say 1 thing? Thank you for delivering on what I asked for Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

It was an awful kick in a good game from him. But absolutely he can't be blamed for the result. I hope he keeps his head up and comes back even better next year.

Had to troll the Geelong supporters on the game day thread, but being more realistic here was a really great effort, we missed a couple of opporutnites in the dying seconds but if it wasn't meant to be than I'm ok with that. Angus is probabaly glad we lost but from that game all I want is a coach that can help secure and improve the brand of football we played today. I hold the view and this year has reinforced that the Cats are on the way down and next year I believe it will be a match we can tick as win - not being arrogant but I believe that will soon become fact.

All our good players played well which is a fantastic thing. Rich stood up all game and Lisle took some big grabs and kicked 3. Although I think Lisle's best act was that spoil on Mackie; that's what he needs to do every game, impose himself.

No doubt we need to keep Mark Harvey on, he's an underrated coach, Freo were justified in hiring Lyon but not in knifing Harvey. He's one that believed in our brand when we offered him a job, contrary to Craig who choose Melbourne over us. I do not wish him to become our coach. If Harvey decides to go elsewhere - don't go to Essendon, it's ruled by a selfish man and he will never get the fair go he deserves. We are a hard working club with alot of heart and modesty and I think whoever coaches us will have the privilege of coaching our young group, not us having the privilege of a 'good' coach (i.e Roos). The last game of the season so as a sentiment, goodluck to the boys in the preseason and go onto bigger and better things in 2014.

Wearing Pops ring today. He was a Cats fan.

If he were alive he certainly wouldn't be hearing the end of this.

It's hard for me to feel proud right now. Looks like port will beat Carlton. One horrible umpiring decision cost us not only the biggest upset of the year, but also a spot in the finals. Geelong have won 48/50, and we are the 2nd youngest team in the comp, it would have been amazing if we got up. But one stupid umpiring decision killed it all. I'm so angry and disappointed right now.

That's why you should be proud.

Well now I have had some time to calm down a bit and think this out, F*** YOU MCBURNEY YOU CHEAT!

In all seriousness, how is he fit to umpire a finals game if he is to weak to pay a clear as day HTB decision because of the boos the Geelong crowd would have given him? Mentally fit I am talking about. Rubbish decision.

Besides being heartbroken that we won't be playing finals and that Carlton is going to get thrashed by Port and still make, at least Lester's shot was on target, even if not high enough. I thought he was really impressive all day, had clearly been told (as had everyone) to take the game on at every opportunity and he was charging through Geelong players when ever he had a chance. Showed he has a little bit of and a huge amount of confidence, I'm getting excited about watching him all through next year.

Surely that's what the ignore list is for TFB and if you and anyone feels that way, then use it! Didn't realise everything was so rosy at the club right at the minute.

I'd prefer not to Dylan as you give good insight in your posts when you're not whining about how bad things are. Yes, some aspects of the club are up the shit ATM and we all know it - hearing people bang out about it relentlessly just makes it worse.

But if you're determined to be an eyeore and need to let everyone know how shitted off you are about it at practically every opportunity I'll begrudgingly put you on ignore.

I'm not having a go BTW, I know you're hurting about the club and we all have different ways of expressing it. I'm just saying I much prefer the more positive Dylan we saw earlier in the year. But in a game where we saw the potential of our young list, your default position is bitter. Just asking you to consider it.
