Hopefully, today was an aberration. We made a better fist of things against them in R4. Thatā€™s saying something. Actually, it was our worst clearance game of the year, I believe. That says it all. In the circumstances, Larkey was great. It was our first step backwards since the first game against *.

Turner and Dumont lining up on the wings In the first half. Thatā€™s terrible given the cattle we have to play there. Atley and McDonald. Such uninspiring footballers.
Goldy needs to find a new lease of football life over the break or we will be in trouble.

Positives:
- We are going into this off-season under absolutely no illusions of where we are at. We need to continue to hit the draft & hit it hard.
- Tarryn Thomas is a sensational player. 26 disposals, 7 tackles & 1 goal.
- Larkey finishes the year with 42 goals. Pretty unbelievable considering how weā€™ve moved the ball & his lack of support.

Negatives:
- Undid a lot of the good work weā€™ve done since the bye. Really disappointing.
Tarryn was easily best for us today. Other players give him the ball hoping he can do something with it. Wellesesque. Was the only one who made us look at all dangerous. Ball handling today was laughable.

Midfield mix getting better but still hikes. Speed on the outside still a problem but is magnified if we get spammed in the middle like today. Luckily it has been rare. Add Powell and Cunners, so people know how to handball to advantage, our movement forward may flow a little better

A reckon we had one run past handball and it resulted in a goal. There were many times no one up field bothered to lead. It was seriously embarrassing to watch.

The whole preseason should revolve around training without the ability to 'mark' the ball.

Every single possession is 'play-on'.

We can even get Eleni screeching 'play on' for added effect.

Exactly. I really hope that the club are furious at winning the spoon and don't content themselves with pick 1, regardless of what player we are able to draft.
Very confident the club would be furious It was just posters on here that where worried about what player we could get with pick 1.

I know youā€™re saying Rod.
But those lapses just mean mentally we arenā€™t switched on for a whole game.
Some of the footy the past three weeks resembled the start of the season more so than the post bye form.
There's a reason we've been 18th for the entire year. We're crap, with much development needed. As such, you can't expect them to be mentally switched on for a whole game.

The only game this year where we played consistently well across 4 quarters, was Carlton.

in running for worst post of the year
It bares repeating that Nobes is on a rolling contract, so if they don't pitch to Clarkson then it's because we're happy with the current coach.

We saw tonight what it will mean to us when Goldie is no longer a dominant ruckman.

Goldie has been great this season but he turns 34 during next season.

The mids need to be able to adjust to a 'lesser' ruckman - won't be easy but will need to happen.
