The same idiot that goes into the surf with his towel and a coffee

Deadset, the anger for the Murphy family will dissipate - unfortunately for Carlisle however he'll still be a classless, shit for brains flog from Craigieburn with one of the rudest lids imaginable.

These guys don't know what the word means, they like their players are born and bred in the gutter. They are the worse supporters in the league and that is saying something...
Some of the comments over there are astounding. There's no point trying to reason with most of them. There are a few outliers going against the grain, but i think they are getting quieter for fear of standing out too much. I earned myself some bench time for posting in the rumours and scandals threads, probably deserved it. I knew the comment I made wasn't going to be received well, but that was the point, to elicit an emotional response. They came back with things like 'you're sick', 'nobody would ever say that'. Exactly! They still couldn't put themselves in Murphy's shoes and see how the rumoured sledges would be exactly the same in his eyes.
Why are we willing to jump up and down about one comment, but seem more willing to accept the other?
I did manage to get the Carey thread closed though. No need to keep perpetuating that when it's been denied.

He goes wallop

I liked this bit as well

In sum, show me a team like St Kilda with enough nasty bastards that would engage in that kind of sledging, and I'll show you a team that won't go far.

Along the same lines as this, I said the below in another thread re Simpson, Docherty and other defenders not rushing into the melee:

Either way I'm glad they stayed back. Showed more poise and composure than the Saints did. Who came out of the game looking worse?

Which was essentially backed up with him in the article

"The famed All Black Sir Brian Lochore once said, and I love the quote, "Better men, make better All Blacks" .The idea is that if you start with the man, picking blokes of good character, of decency, of generosity of spirit, and place them in a culture where they become better men still – having everyone from the captain on down regularly clean out the changing room, etc – you finish up with better players.

For the truly wonderful thing about so much of sport is that the values that we most admire in our fellow humans – humility, decency, generosity, honest, selflessness, capacity to work hard – are exactly the same qualities that great teams are built on."

Would have to go back and have a look, but I'm pretty sure that while they started to walk away after Simmo stopped them, they then turned back and saw the melee getting bigger and eventually joined in. Has the AFL handed down any fines or anything yet?

That's a quote and he's right too. The all black culture is pretty brilliant. They pack up the gear and do a lot of cleaning and menial stuff themselves to promote humility. Strikes me that is exactly what bolts has been doing - curnow carrying the drinks, he's talked about gratitude which I'm sure comes from players not being treated like kings who shouldn't do anything except train and play
