Possibly the hardest match to judge I've ever seen - no standouts and a real team performance, with different players stepping up at different times.
5 Jones - I just thought he did the really hard things well all night all over the field
4 Haynes - excellent long & short leading, very fast, 4 goals, second efforts this week (and I've criticised him on that score in the past), not much more a FF can do
3 Cousins - back on track, as he's been getting for a few weeks now, but did some really skilful things today and was the top possession-getter (and none were soft, either)
2 Gardiner - by his standards an ordinary first quarter (I honestly think he slacked off and thought it would be easy), but was too good up forward in the second and absolutely killed them in the third and fourth with beautiful taps to running midfielders
1 Glass - very creditable performance on a tough opponent, scored a goal and even did a couple of good kicks
Incredibly unlucky and deserving encouragement awards:
Humm - hard at it and a ball magnet in the 2nd half when we started to dominate, delivered that footpass to Haynes on the lead
Cox - found some form in the ruck in the second quarter
Wirrpunda - ridiculously classy and gave his (much younger) opponent a lesson
Matera - 5 goals and a threat all night and I still can't fit him in
Sampi - see Matera with less goals, the good news is that I think if it's not one, it'll be the other
Braun & Green - both good and hard at it all night
Jako - goals and a target all night - one of the few to be switched on early when we were sluggish
Judd, Fletcher, Kerr, Morrison, Hunter all got a fair bit of the footy and played their part
Embley, Banfield, Munro, Carroll did quite well too.
