Another great win! 52 pts although we wasted a lot of shots on goal. Boys are playing fantastic footy at the moment and are a good chance against the Bombers next week.

5. Cousins
4. Haynes
3. Jones
2. Gardy
1. Wirrpunda

5. Haynes - best game for the club: leading, marking, goals
4. Cousins - cut them up when we were streaking to 11 goals unanswered
3. Jones - very good all night, got in close and also in the open spaces. Should've been credited for one extra goal too.
2. Gardiner - Just because it wasn't his best game this year doesn't mean he was influential. Couple of towering pack marks were great.
1. Wirrapunda - only had 11 possessions (and some time on the bench) but I reckon I remember every single one of them such was his brilliance.

Bring on the 'Dons. :D

jod - will vote tomorrow hopefully, I had to unexpectantly leave the game early, so I still need to watch the 4th quarter before voting.

5 - Cousins - was outstanding all day, one particular play stood out in my mind where he dived on the ball inches from the boundary line, seemingly surrounded by players...he just wanted it more and by the time all the other players realised he had kept it in with his desperation and brilliance, he had released a teammate and WC were away.

4 - Haynes - 4 goals, 8 marks and 18 disposals. He did pretty much everything right.

3 - Jones - he has been fantastic all year long and continues to provide a marking target through the midfield. He had 8 marks, although some time was spent on the half forward flank, he was still influential and should have had 2 goals instead of 1.

2 - Jakovich - brought his A game early when the rest of the Eagles looked asleep, I believe he kicked 2 of his 3 in the first term and really provided a target up forward.

1 - Cox - now let me explain this one. Gardiner started the day in the ruck and whilst he won pretty much all of the taps, they werent particularly going to our midfielders. Which is why the 1st quarter was fairly even. But Cox replaced Gardy in the second and Cox won just as many HO's but this time it was going straight down the throats of our numerous running midfielders. IMO Cox turned the game and started our 11 goal unanswered run.

Apologies to Gardiner, despite his lacklustre 1st period, his work up forward and rucking in the last half was his usual brilliant self. Grabbed another 8 marks and continued his dominance over the entire league with another 33 HO's.

Also Wirrpunda was all quality, I was shocked when I saw the stats, that he only had 11 disposals?? I thought he was brilliant. Matera another 5 but couldnt squeeze him in...he didnt really earn them this week, got a couple of handballs over the top etc but he has to be in the right place at the right time so kudo's for that.

Judd, Kerr, Fletch, Glass, Braun and Humm....big ups to those guys too.

very hard to give this weeks:

5 - Cousins
4 - Haynes (How good was he?? after a few people bagged him during the week!!)
3 - Matera
2 - Jones
1 - Judd

bloody hard as there were no weak links out there.

Look at the stat sheet to see the evenness of our performance right across the park.

Only 4 guys didn't get into double figures on touches, but Matera kicked 5 goals, Cox had 28 hit outs and Glass did a pretty good job on Richardson. Carroll was the other, and he didn't get much game time.

Whilst there were only 2 above 20 (Fletcher had right on 20, and Cuz had 26).

Very even and top team performacne.

Also another pretty telling stat (this is one of the few that I believe does tell a pretty good story of a match), is the players over 15 touches for a match for each team.

We had 12, and they had 5.

Always going to be a good chance to win with so many more people getting their hands on the ball.

Very tough to give votes this week.

5. Cousins- Back to his best form, the EB we know and love. 26 disposals, all of which were those nifty little 'run out back of pack with player on his hammer, twist, turn, balk, evade, kick' sequences that make up his game.

4. Jones- Mr reliable all day.

3. Jakovich- Dominant CHF, strong marking, set up our forward line.

2. Haynes- Grrr. Career best performance, did some truly exciting things.

1. Gardiner- Lazy day at the office, but still imposed himself on the game.

Apologies to Fido, Glass, Wirrpunda, and Fletch. It seems as though our entire team is slowling increasing in form and really beginning to hit its straps. Interesting times ahead.

it's good to see that every week there have been different players standing up each week.

it should make for an interesting result. not like last year when we all knew it would finish with cuz, kerr, judd.

It was actually Cuz, Kerr, Wirrpunda....Judd. :D Kerr and Cousins look like non factors though this season so far. No doubt both will turn it around and to be fair to them, both have been hurt by injuries.

Finally, after moving houses at the weekend and missing the live match (only had radio broadcast) I managed to see a replay on foxfooty yesterday.

I've made a point not to look at other people's votes until I managed to cast my votes.

5. Haynes
4. Cousins
3. Wirrpunda
2. Matera
1. Rowan Jones

Now I can go back and see who anybody else have been voting for.
