My issue is that we were never actually playing really good footy, we’ve just been okay and managed to bank some wins. If anything this is the most consistent we’ve been in a long time, we’ve been okay to good in every quarter thus year besides 2. A howler quarter against Brisbane and st kilda, the rest all pretty similar.

If the wheels are falling off it might be because they were never securely fitted in the first place.

There’s fickle and then there’s Port fans on big footy. Will we be a flag favourite again if we beat Melbourne?

Look I’m not confident either, but I haven’t been confident all season. They’re playing okay but not at a level that gives you confidence of them definitely winning. But they’re a big chance to win this game, they should and deserve to be favourites.

Yep exactly this. Its just who is loudest at any time.

Ive said all year we have proved little. I saw some real good glimpses in the gws and carlton games, but nothing that fully convinces me.

Being lucky enough to get to beat up on the adelaide witches hats, dockers, and getting the suns and toast at the right time doesnt mean much at all.

We even saw this Hinkley side have a mid-season collapse in our "good" seasons of 2013-2014; from 5-0 to 5-5 in '13 and 10-1 to 14-8 in '14. The difference then was our side could actually stand up in the big games and had two good finals series' as well as great wins against Sydney, Collingwood and Adelaide in 2013. This is a staple of our team under Ken Hinkley and after poor form against Brisbane, GWS (both teams played atrocious if we are honest, we did well to stand up late however), Carlton and of course the Saints last week, we've show absolutely no signs that we've changed this year.

Full expecting us to lose tonight based on that trend, and anyone who is overly confident about this game is kidding themselves. It's not being fickle, it's just being sick of the same old shit this side has dished up for 7+ years now.

2 quarters out of 32, was the St Kilda game not tracking almost identical to the previous 2 weeks prior to the last 7 minutes or so?

If Robbie Gray missed against Carlton we would've been talking about that game as a poor performance like the St Kilda game but instead it was one of our most gutsy wins in our history.

I guess you weren't a port fan between 2015-2019. BigFooty attitude has developed over time and with good reason.
We should easily beat Melbourne but no guarantee. Almost certainly will lose to Geelong, Richmond and probably dogs.
