Play Hayes ffs

As much as I'd like to see Hayes come in I could at least see the justification for throwing Hoff Forward.

The danger of Hayes and MG in the forward line is that they both will get run off. I dont think either have the tank yet. The side effect of this is it will push Dixon further up the ground.

The worst result would be a small in for Marshall to keep up the pressure.

That’s not a bad selection, but I would have one other - Lienert/Watts for Bonner

We have a few options:

MG as lead up and maybe switch Ebert to more of a leading forward role (marking good, kicking yuck).

Hoff to be a GWS style plank of wood to stop Melbourne defenders getting intercepts and help bring the ball to ground (idea is sound but Hoff is yuck atm)

Switch Dixon to more of a lead up forward but I think thats a waste as he's going really well, apart from the fumbles vs St Kilda.

Two junior woodchuck rucks rotating on-ball and forward... not sure we're ready for that vs Gawn

Play Buzza instead of Hoff and get him to crash packs as well

Play Watts as a forward (probably the best option if he's fit)

Return to Hinkley small-ball

My vote would be Watts in for Marshall as a like-for-like. Especially if McKenzie is fit to play down back.

I dont think Dixon needs to play higher up the ground if you replace Marshall with Watts.

Sounds like McKenzie will be back this week which is great.

I really dont want to see Hoff in the side this week. He's been a major liability the past few weeks. Needs a spell.

I would love for watts to come in for bonner, not sure whether they will consider that until after watts has a run though.

Lienert for bonner is a bit of a nothing move.

Like I’m not at all bothered if bonner gets dropped, he deserves it but while bonner gets blasted for defensive effort lienert escapes such criticism because he’s never in any kind of position to have to make a defensive effort where we could judge him on it. He generally plays 100m clear of any opponent. If bonner played the same game as lienert he wouldn’t attract all this negative attention on bigfooty because doing something badly half the time is worse than never attempting to do something at all.

I think the way lienert plays (basically as some kind of deep winger) is the way people want bonner to play but without burton we kind of do need that guy back there who can play on someone as opposed to lienert. Garners probably a better swap if watts isn’t ready than lienert but they’re also looking for run from the back half that were not getting enough of from elsewhere.

I’ve guess you cottoned on that I’m bit of a Jarrod fan. I just want him to be given the opportunities that Bonner has had. I don’t think he’ll disappoint!

Westhoff needs time out of the side doesn't deserve to stay in.
All sides will get more injuries in this next month including ourselves so guys like watts hayes and buzza must be given the opportunity if one or 2 of them takes it and become permanent clogs in the team for the rest of the year then that's a win.
So hopefully when Lycett and eventually marshall returns we will have good tall options in ruck forward and defence for the backend of the season
