Who gets a rest for the bulldogs game as it doesn’t look like where rotating anyone this match. I’d say Westhoff, one of Boak, Rockliff and Wines and Rozee or Gray probably go out for that game.

I assume Westhoff gets tested

If Westhoff goes forward, Georgiades is the second tall. Westhoff isnt going to suddenly become a reliable target after a billion games

He's a shambles but I still see him getting the second best defender. Surely.

Rocky in after last week is a no brainer. We lost because we were not tough enough in the clinches. We all wish we had more pace in the guts but unless we get the ball in the clinches more (Rocky’s DNA), all we get is guys chasing Melbourne players who have the ball, quicker.

Lienert deserves a go. Justifiably ahead of Garner and Bergman as the long kicking option out of defence who can mind the third tall. Hoping he plays instead of Sutcliffe and not with him.

That leaves Westhoff or Hayes or Buzza as forward/ruck. Westhoff looks really tired. He was hopeless two weeks ago and ”that kick” Saturday had “I’m buggered” written all over it. He needs a rest.

But of the 3, the Hoff is most likely to chime in with 3 goals, lay forward 50 tackles and assist in the backline if needed. Personally, I’d go with a fit Hayes over a buggered Hoff but you can see the reasoning for Westhoff.

In reality he wouldn't be playing if McKenzie, Marshall and Lycett weren't injured. This is the only reason he is still in the team. If at least 2 of these are back, he will be out.

But we still didn't look at an alternative ruck/forward option.

Instead we played Westhoff as a ruck/defender option.

Now he will be a ruck/forward option again, even though he was dropped because he wasn't playing well enough in that role, and has not shown anything as a ruck/forward to show he improved.

The crows used to pull this ring-a-rosey nonsense all the time pre-Blight and how we laughed at them.

Yeah, our season is done. We'll lose the next 4 because Hinkley has learned nothing, and we'll then battle all season only to end up 9th.

I'd take that. The gods hate Port, so we're limping to 8th, smashed in a final, KT and Koch talk up 'Youf' suffered under a shortened season and isn't it great to have Ken at the helm in 2021!!!!

I've never hid the fact I'm not a Rockliff fan, but Melbourne don't have a particularly explosive midfield, Viney, Jones, Oliver are all more inside types. Rockliff might not be as bad as he sounds.

Classic Hinkley mentality - why bother trying to exploit an opposition's weakness when you can be equally as shit as them in that area?
