I think we could use him. But whether 1 game?? back from a bad hamstring is enough, is the question.
Sean Darcy is being talked as a chance to play against the ruckman who is either #1 or #2 in the AFL this year, off the back of two WAFL games.

Don't be surprised to see Jones named ahead of him.

That would be disappointing if it happens.

Which part?

Playing the highly valued junior against the biggest challenge of his career off the back of just two games in three weeks?

Or

Playing the slightly older but better physically prepared player ahead of him?

... or will it depend on the outcome? Should Darcy break down and be out for the rest of the year the uproar would be deafening. Should Jones get smashed by Gawn the same would question why Darcy didn't play.

Well Jones would get smashed, that is an absolute given.

Darcy and Ape are a good combination in that both can be dangerous forward, while Jones is a liability forward.
Darcy while he may have only played two games back would have been on a strong conditioning program for the latter period of his rehab and should be fine to play immediately.
Realistically if he were to play he is only going to see 40-50% time in the ruck anyway.

And for a mod, your awfully passive aggressive.

I was just clarifying which point was being assumed to be taken as granted.

Rossy has mentioned Jones and now Stephen Hill during presser today. Wouldn’t be surprised if he comes in either. He does bring a bit of physicality which is always needed!

We covered Fyfe fine when he was out, but had Blakely in the guts. Who goes in there now?
Mundy plays more mid than forward, but with Cerra, Brayshaw and Banfield spending more time in there as well. Personally wouldnt mind seeing Langdon in the middle with the Hill boys on opposition wings.

Yeah. I'm not sure if they will rush him back. Jones needs to be given time at the top level as well if we are going to keep him.

Hopefully Ross backs McCarthy in this week and picks him
Seriously? How? Why? What? F**k no! McCarthy has done zilch for Peel, should be one of the last players getting a chance this week. My prediction at the start of the year was that McCarthy would be recognized as more of an average player than a good player. Hard to say I'm wrong right now.

We can't say you're right either. He's out of form and shouldn't be close to selection, but that doesn't mean he should be written off. He can play, I suspect at the moment it's mainly mental for Cam. If it is, I hope he gets in a good space and let the rest take care of itself.

I'm thinking we may also B. Hill in for Fyfe and McCarthy in for Nhuis. They will play Mundy as the inside mid in Fyfe's role so we will need another forward, that will be McCarthy. Can't say i'm overly excited about him coming back in as he has shown not a great deal at WAFL level, he would want to show something in his first game back or else he could be straight back to the WAFL when Bennell is ready and could very well stay there for the rest of the year.

I think McCarthy deserves an opportunity when he has a tall structure around him. Apeness and Taberner etc His best performances for GWS were when he played third tall. I sometimes think we bulked him up too much to turn him into a key forward and it has affected his mobility and ruined his confidence.

Cox was pretty ordinary playing in defence before returning to the seniors. Praps McCarthy had similar things to work on?
