Yes he has done much wrong at Peel this year. His form for Peel has been pretty terrible considering how promising he looked last year. Has been described as looking disinterested in more than a couple of the match write-ups by some keen peel watchers. Sorry, but yes it actually is his fault that he isn't getting a game ahead of other youngsters like Duman and Nyhuis who have been on the list for less time than Hughes. It is not like we aren't afraid to play youth this year.

The same Peel watchers who said the same about Taberner last year?

Saying a player "looks disinterested" is meaningless drivel anyway, it's just someone seeing whatever they want to see.
 
I remember a lot of "disinterested" comments being thrown around at Apeness too during the pre-season and at WAFL. Clearly didn't carry over into his AFL form and just a throwaway critique at this point.

Can i ask whats happened to Sean Darcy? Really rated him when he debuted last year, had a lot of similarities to mumford. But hasnt been seen this year and just saw he's not on the injury list?

Haha, he had a PCL and has only played 2 WAFL games. Will be named tonight.

Spent the last couple of weeks in WAFL to build form after coming back from injury. Will play against Melbourne this weekend.

Most watchers gave Taberner very positive reviews for his games at Peel last year. I know you'll never admit it. But it is insanely obvious Taberner benefited massively from playing the games he played at Peel last year. He clearly worked on his weaknesses and came back a far better player.

Reckon he'd probably be an alright interceptor for us but I'd like to see him improve his kicking/decision making. I'd probably just rather Wilson/Ryan/Kersten in that role because we know they'll be able to do much more with ball in hand once they do cut it off.

I think that's the issue really. That's the role he's been pigeon-holed into and at the moment he's behind Ryan and Kersten for that role. Wouldn't mind seeing him tried somewhere else.
 
Ballantyne not travelling in the squad of 23 according to the Ch 9 reporter at the airport...so one of Hughes Sutcliffe looks a definite in.

While I can't think of why Sutty got a gig, at least he can play just about anywhere. Sounds like his kicking has been shite since returning from injury.
