Only 10 Fremantle players in this weeks squad that played in the win against Melbourne last year in Round 4.

8 from the last time we played them in Darwin in Round 16 game 2016.

Does Hughes play fwd or backline? Aren’t we already top heavy in the back half?
He could be the defensive match-up for Petracca. I could see us going with Kersten on Fritsch, A.Pearce on Hogan and Hamling on Macdonald with S.Hill playing as the plus 1.

He sometimes plays wing but mainly back. His kicking into the forward line and for goal is his problem and his occasional brain fade. He seems to be the kind of guy that can only play at AFL level when he is in peak form.

Brandon Matera avoids the axe, but Ballantyne and Nyhuis didn't make the flight. Looks like Sutcliffe, Hughes, Hill and Darcy IN for Fyfe, Ballantyne and Nyhuis

Sutcliffe is my call for emg.

Most watchers gave Taberner very positive reviews for his games at Peel last year. I know you'll never admit it. But it is insanely obvious Taberner benefited massively from playing the games he played at Peel last year. He clearly worked on his weaknesses and came back a far better player.
Yes, I'll choose to lend more weight to the views of those who make the effort to watch the games than those who sit behind their keyboards and snipe. I also thought the reviews on Tabs were pretty positive other than a couple of poor games.

Agree that he is a probably a much better player because he was pushed back to Peel to learn his craft.

Has done very well for a rookie draft pick and credit to the club for developing him.

Ballas injured?
I’d that the Freo way of saying - we respect you... it you’ve not got much left... we’ll say injured instead of dropped to save some dignity.

Pretty happy with those. Not exactly sure what we are achieving by replacing Nyhuis with Hughes but willing to give him another shot as he was very unlucky to be cut after only that one game against Richmond.

Nah he was on the recovery bed next to Fyfe in a Sheridan Instagram video recently. Not that 100% confirms it but they dropped him earlier in the year anyway so they have form.

Can't complain too much about those changes. Bit disappointed that Duman couldn't get a look in after 31 touches though.
