Watching the highlights. Two great tackles by KMac. One on Abbott, the other on Bews.
Great tackle by Lloyd in the final moments to rescue the game.
He could see Henderson was ducking into the tackle and adjusted his posture.
Imagine a Geelong player ducking for a head-high free kick! Unbelievable.
By the way, Nankervis does look tired and deserves a rest before finals.
The last two matches were gruelling plus the intense media spotlight.

i like the term, nothing to do with illegal hits or thuggery, just level of impact on the contest, hit it with violence, tackle with violence, when you contest the ball, contest it violently, defend with violence, all within legal bounds of course. it's actually how we play when we are at out best, cotchin an example in the geelong final

became familiar with the term early last year from robert saleh, defensive co-ordinator at the 49ers, resonated with me

this is a contest sport and playing with a level of legal violence above your opponent will win you lots of games

I don't think Cotchin plays violently. He plays forcefully, aggressively and purposely, and if the ball is in the area you will be subject to contact as required. Violence implies deliberately going out of your way to hurt/damage someone and thus I don't really like the term.

Cotch stared.....he is the complete player now. I’d hate to see what he would do with 35 possessions. But l don’t think it’s possible with the type of game he is playing at the moment. A bit like Riewoldt game, he is the complete forward, I’d say he is the most valuable forward in the league atm and should be AA.
Considering he's still a genuine chance to take out the Coleman then I'd say that he's a lock for AA. They are aware of all the extra work that he does these days and that would come into the equation

Have people read the geelong board? they are so confident they will beat us next time..honestly i'm over it. They need to admit that we are simply better.
Why do they? I think that just makes it funnier.

Same here....seem like he marked it on the siren and should have had a shot on goal. Perhaps he didn't quite mark the ball or it bounced just before him?
I should check but I think the game ends when the ump hears the siren. There may be a second or 2 before s/he reacts and actually blows the whistle.

I'm probably in the minority here in that I want our best team out on the ground every game. We are heading for finals. We need that connection that we speak about constantly. Those five premiership players who we currently have out need to come back in when they are ready to go. Build into the finals and wipe any team off the map going into finals. No mercy.

Cotchin got more votes from the coaches than any of the Holy Trinity. Can someone post on the MB on thread that questions whether Cotch should be dropped.

Yep i am too, just wondering about the timeframe now.

Sirengate Mk11. Can this grubby organisation ever, ever, ever admit they’re wrong.
Apparently they have a clock that if it isn't in sync with another clock then they make up when they let the first clock run providing that a stoppage presents so it matches the other clock assuming that the other clock is the correct time. Make sense? The problem with all these clocks is that one never has any idea what the other clocks are doing and we all know what happens when too many clocks start waving their hands around.

My head hurts reading this. I really think they use clocks for timekeeping though. I’m going to play on my AFL approved Atari.
