Some clubs will make any excuse why they cant compete with the top sides rather than getting off their arses and making it happen. Take a good look at rockbank. People like to bag them and the caravan park thing but in reality they are showing up many of the bigger clubs at the moment. If they can turn their fortunes around then all the clubs can.

Perhaps then some of these people can go to these clubs and work there and show them how
it's not that easy

So Keston your basically saying you don't know what you're doing....you want other clubs who work tirelessly to run their club to come in and show you how it's done?

Na was just pointing out that it's easy to have a crack at certain clubs but unless you are apart of that club you may not realise why things are tuffer
It was said tongue in cheek
See some clubs work really hard but may just not have the resources to compete I'm sure there are many hard volunteers at clubs struggling that have got of there arses and don't appreciate certain comments presuming they don't make a effort

The competition doesnt need to be evened out. The wheel turns, it wasnt that long ago Lancefield were winning flags, Macedon came close, Kilmore won a flag in the 70s I think. Sunbury and so on. Romsey not that long ago were getting flogged by 20-30 goals a game. Romsey changed the culture at the club and have got tireless workers on and off the field. Maybe this has something to do with how there going this year. Remember Collingwood had had a 32 year drought, the AFL didnt go and change the game to help Collingwood. The COMMITTEE did.

They do a similar thing in the AFL - not sure it is a bad a suggestion as posters are making out.

A top 6 AFL team will only get to play 1 bottom 6 team twice.

You are making a massive assumption that all clubs are living beyond their means. Think you may find most are financially responsible. I certainly would not be taking much notice of the telephone number figures being spruiked on here. I think most clubs are looking at how creative they can be in relation to attracting players. Of course they would prefer you to think that they are throwing truckloads of coin.

Well I believe they are a important part of the community to nurcher our kids for families to gather and enjoy time amongst other people within the community many clubs have good roll models who our children aspire to
Good sports foundation states a sporting club is there for family fun and community awareness many clubs do a lot of hard work to aid people within there community sports is supposed to be a great evener
I understand that things change and change is brought about by the need for success but believe it is now dividing communities and not nurchering in some cases


the kids that come through juniour clubs this intern affects community overall
When playing local sports becomes a job for players and volunteers
Then it losses it's community value

That's my opinion it will never get back to what it was but slowing down the process may once again alow sports to be fun

You shouldnt assume that you know what other clubs are paying players. you helped to recruit players to broad ford on good money. the figure came straight from a player. smart recruiting brings success . you need to hunt out more and better sponsors do more fundraising . More social events etc. success brings success.

Footy clubs exist because of hard working people who like to go and watch there club on the weekend win loose or draw. I don't know about you but I like to have a beer or 5 and socialise with mates and support the club regardless of the results

For me clubs exist so I can get out of the house and away from the missus and kids and drink some cans with my mates.

You shouldnt assume that you know what other clubs are paying players. you helped to recruit players to broad ford on good money. the figure came straight from a player. smart recruiting brings success . you need to hunt out more and better sponsors do more fundraising . More social events etc. success brings success.

You keep assuming and yes I do no because as you would no players shop them selfs around as did many of your players the discussion is a general one you keep pointing it at two clubs only it's weather the community can sustain it that's all communities

The AFL did bring in the draft and the salary cap though. Why did they do it? To even out the competition. Has it worked? Yes. The Swans won their first flag in 2005 since the 1930's. The Lions won flags after not having won one since the 1940's. St. Kilda were unlucky not to win one and Geelong won in 2007 after winning their last flag in 1963. The AFL didn't change the rules to help Collingwood, but they did change them to even out out the competition.

Just because you tried to get half our list for ridiculous $$ doesn't mean we pay them stupid $$$
