Good try Olly21, I see you have made similar queries about Moonee Valley and Myrtleford football clubs in the past. And for someone who is new to the area, why did you make a post congratulating Mark and the Redbacks after their win in 2011?

To answer your question blue boy i am new to melbourne as I moved up from geelong. Second of all I follow a lot of football in different leagues around Victoria because I love the atmosphere and have mates in different leagues and I wanted to now more about these two clubs because they seem good set ups. third of all who the hell is mark and give me the proof I did congratulate him because back then i didn't even now romesy had won a flag and I couldn't have told you who even played in the riddell league

Do your research better Bluesboy67, he piggy backed off Omni's post in regards to the Redbacks quote.
And anyway, who cares if he's asking questions like this? You just look like an idiot having a go at him over for such a small thing. Stick to giving it to the heavy hitters on this forum and not the sometimes posters.

Interested to get people opinions. A few years back i started a thread called ask an ump. Wondering if people would be interested in a similar thing away from the main page in 2014. There are often things people would like to know when it comes to umpiring and how we go about certain aspects of our job. I think a little bit of knowledge can go a long way so if by providing the thread i can help at all i am happy to do so. Would hopefully be able to answer most questions and potentially aid with any constructive criticism but i won't answer if it turns into an umpiring abuse thread or i start to cop a barrage. Let me know what you think.

Romsey to get a night game next year !!!!

Romsey should definitely get a night game next year. The romsey vs barry game was one of the highlights of the season.
I really enjoyed umpiring under the lights. The only negative i had was it does get very dark and difficult to see directly underneath the towers. But thats easy enough to live with when we are in a 3 umpire system.

Hey Orange Ump that's great feedback, it was a huge game and well run and supported event not only by Romsey n Broadford but there was a lot of other RDFNL supporters too.

We would love to host more night games in 2014 preferably early in the season so the supporters can enjoy the warmer weather.

What do others think about how this game was as a spectacle or playing under lights in general?

Is there any other RDFNL clubs who would like to play the Redbacks under lights at Romsey football ground in 2014?

The (now) annual Sunbury Lions vs Rupo Sharks pre season scratch match looks to be becoming more and more even with 5 top line players in Carris, S Clarke, Cheep, J Lobb and Sleight leaving Sunbury as well as McGoven and Monzel returning to Rupo along with cast of quality players. Exciting times down at Rupo!!

On a sad note Brett 'Bossman' Sinnett has been forced to hang up the boots due to age related health concerns (and bung knees). It will be very humerous watching him coach from the sidelines just itching to play.
Great career Bossman. As one chapter ends, a new one begins.

add a couple more light towers and I reckon it could be a goer :thumbsu:

Just read over on the Ballarat FL thread that Jamie Elliott has joined Sunbury Lions as assistant coach. Crying shame that he wont be seen around the traps in 2014 (cracking bloke in my opinion), but it appears that after some in the Diggers camp felt he didn't have the time to devote to the job ..... the Lions thought otherwise :thumbsu:

Ouch ''This Be Me', that was a bit of a smack you gave me there. Yep, I accept your comment on the piggyback ( I'm not too up to date IT wise), but have a look at the history of Olly's comments. For a sometimes poster (which was only ten in 3 and a half years, they have a familiar ring to them)

13 April 2010. - "Could anyone tell me what Aerfeldie are like? Good club, good culture etc"

6 July 2010. - "I was wondering what people think of St. Albans?"

6 July 2010. - "Wondering what Gisborne is like"

12 July 2010. - "How are Myrtleford looking this year? What are their facilities and following like?"

19 September 2011. - "What is Macedon like?"

1 April 2013 - "What are Moonee Valley like? Well respected? Good following? Close knit club?"

30 October 2013 - "Give me a rundown on who is the better club socially and culture wise out of Romsey and Riddell."

Call me a cynic, but methinks these queries are being thrown out as bait to get a bite. Good luck if he does get a bite.

Just my opinion.

Peter o
Make sure you get this up on request for pre selection on fixtures with rdfl
The broadford game last year we had started discussions before the season had started
Think a couple games under lights would be a hit
Good luck

Heard this week that the RDFL is looking to base themselves out in Melton West somewhere Arnolds Creek I think. its so far west it might as well be in Ballarat. anyone heard of this?
Any comments. Is the Riddell League to become the second division of the BFL

They the RDFL has a league meeting this week apparently to decide if they go
whats the thoughts on the proposed move???

The reasoning behind my question is that I, along with other clubs have been approached over the last 12 months to play a night game against them during the regular season. Not sure about every other club but our football ground would have to have one of the worst light set up ever, very hard to train let alone play so I would be open to at least having a praccy match to get the boys used to it before we played or 4 points.

What's everyone's thoughts on starting up out own pre-season night comp like keilor used to run back in the day? Big money winner for them. Maybe romsey could host that.
