Meach did you get that call from Deano ? :) :footy: :footy:

Yes I actually sent him a message with my number, had a very good chat for over 25 minutes, was actually great to get some things out in the open. All I can say is we have been through a lot together and our goal at the end of the day is the same.

It is funny though to find out we are actually talking to a fair few of the same possible recruits, at least now they can't play us against our selves.

Wouldn't hurt to private message me either mate and let me know who I'm actually talking too?

That's common sense and will be determined at the end of the year, this was a looking forward exercise only.

Quite a good little exercise too and well worth doing to ensure the league are doing their best to keep the fixture even. I guess we face a similar problem to the AFL in that we can't have all teams play each other twice. I always find it interesting how people get upset about a perceived tough draw that their team may get when compared with others. At the end of the day a tough draw or a weak draw might be the difference between a team finishing 5th, 6th or 7th but the best team will always finish in the top two regardless of their draw.

To use the AFL as an example. The Crows got an easy draw in 2012 and made the finals but got found out when the real stuff started. The Hawks last year had one of the toughest draws and won the flag. They were ready and well conditioned come finals time.

Well said Doona, and yes there is another person on here that does deserve a pat on the back for helping out our club get to where it is today (just wish he would stop potting us at evey chance he got) Football is a funny game that we all love no matter what the end result.

I got asked by a young apprentice today who is part of the riddell football club why we have started so early and that riddell only need 2 sessions before Christmas. At first I thought maybe because they are the bench mark and don't need to do much running? But my response was that my football club is also a huge social club for those involved, it has nothing to do with getting away from work, the wives/girlfriends, kids ect, its about being around ya mates and having a few froths after some hard works been done. Yeah we need to do a lot of work to be able to compete with the good sides, but also getting these boys on the track and around each other forming great relationships is just as important Win or lose.
Success is winning flags I agree, but if you could be a part of a club that has a great social side to it and friendly people that you can class a friends for ever then that equals success just as much to me. We will be right up there again next year I can promise you that and hopefully our crowds (biggest in the league) will again support is for the success we have achieved over the last 6 years.

Loot king I now remember where I knew that alias from and I used to work very close with the person who created it, if my memory serves me correct the password was actually passed over to a person who also regularly causes arguments on here may even be a moderator?
What is the status of Cuffe, Ploog and Fish? Had heard they all retired?

IMS - can we just set up a pre - 2014 Romsey forum and let them just go at it so they don't waste your time on here and everyone else doesn't have to read their dribble??! I'm sure mongrel would appreciate it as well!!

No.. I have a better idea.

Any future posts on the matter or a continuance of this tit-for-tat rubbish will be deleted and the user posting it will be carded.

Including replying to this, I don't need a qualification saying "good idea" or "yay" or anything along those lines, this is the very final post on the matter.

Tough time of year for Coaches and club recruiters. As the money is increasing so are player demands and the playing off of clubs pushes prices up further. "Macedon have offered me $$$" "I have 3 clubs wanting me to sign" “Riddell can get me employment” “Rupo offer a sign on fee” etc etc.
(note – these are made up examples!)

Or you have a great conversation with a player and think you have a new recruit but they stop answering the clubs calls and won’t return calls. Nothing worse than a tire kicker that wastes a clubs time. If you are not interested in a club just be honest. Coaches and recruiters will more often than not wish you the best and move onto the next recruit.

Do you think that times and loyalty to a club have changed tho? I believe a lot of new players go to a club today due to the money they are offered. Unfortunately if one club doesn't offer the $$, then it's off to the next RDFL club, or another league who will pay it.

It is tough with rising prices - the gap would be the biggest between the rich and poor clubs and why we see player movement within the RDFL. Clubs also have to be careful about paying big $$$ to bring in a player as they could upset the loyal players that play for less. It is a fine line and the clubs are on a tight rope. Player retention and recruiting - not the most enjoyable time of year for clubs.

Looking forward to the big reveal from Romsey!!

Sammy had a fair year at Yea, low 60's in a team that I think won 3 and had a draw. $hit I hope Saddington don't have to play full back, that left foot coming off half back at Clancy Reserve is what we wanna see.

Sam Rexhepi- Yea Football Club

2013- 18 Games & 61 Goals, not a bad effort in a team which finished second last

Sorry Miami shoulda read all the posts first, I wish the bloke well. Sam could've easily walked from Yea when they sacked his mate Cuts as coach but he stuck the year out and is exactly what Wallan needs. Be nice for J-Col, Shags Galea, Goody etc to have a genuine target to kick it in to.
