I umpire our local cricket comp mate, dunno if I could handle it 12 months a year. Thanks anyway but I'm just gunna enjoy watching my young bloke play for nothing in the under 10's and cruise around watching a lot of the guys I've coached or come into contact with over the past 11-12 years in and out of coaching gigs.
 
Yes Lancefield is in the same boat with the under 18.5's and we also approached the RDFL and they assured us of the same concessions re age.
We are still struggling and have approached all other teams with the same question if you have any young guys wanting to play please contact the club. No one wants any club not to be able to field an under 18.5s' as it has a ripple effect down the track.
 
If anyone has a young guy interested in playing at Lancefield then give either Scoot Woolcock a call the under 18.5s' coach on 0411359140 or Sean Tobias the senior coach on 0408252225
 
Sunbury Kangaroos are also in the same boat, we have a great bunch and talented core group of kids but we will still struggle to field a full side if it stays as is. If there are any under 18 players out there that want to have a run around please don't hesitate to give me a call on 0410406982 and I can pass on your details.

agree mate. I know Sunbury have made a few changes but I think Rupo with a new coach may take a couple of weeks to get going, but will definitely look forward to watching them later in the year.

I don't get to partake too much in that endeavour these days O.U., but I'm sure it wouldn't take me too long to get my old mojo back !!! :eek:

In all seriousness, how are your numbers shaping up pal ?
I must say I love the proactive way the U. A. is going about lifting it's image & profile. I'm sure that's gunna help you guys heaps going forward. :thumbsu:

Numbers could be better at this stage. We really do need to recruit some more umpires in all disciplines. Hopefully our campaigns can help spread some interest. If you liked the 1st one, you will love the next one that I am about to post

Great work mate.. we really need to see those numbers up, quickly.. have played footy and umpired.. personally find umpiring far more fun.. it's more enjoyable than watching it from the sidelines.. as an umpire, you see more action up close than any midfielder.. it's simply a breathtaking role to have.. hopefully we get more numbers up in the coming weeks..

Interesting to see a clearance into Diggers Rest for Luke Smailes from over Perth way. I reckon 6-7 weeks ago his name was linked to Rockbank, 2 weeks ago the boys at Nagambie thought they had him before The Burra obviously jumped in and trumped all offers. Many were thinking Diggers might slip a rung or two after the Elliott saga after last years grand final loss ...... but this signing could be a massive game changer.

Anyway as soon as I heard the name a couple of months ago I knew I'd heard of him. Here's a you tube clip from a game in Perth, we always tell our forwards to play in front, Orange Ump and his crew are gunna love this bloke

A few of those decisions were a bit soft and won't get paid this year. Hope they aren't the only kicks he gets.
