Exactly what happened 20 years ago here. Remember Kilmore going up at 1 stage and we (GIsborne) beat them by 30+ goals at their own ground. Players also get divi 2 flags, then leave cos they dont want to get smashed in divi 1. Leaves the club going up in the shit. Or too much money gets spent trying to be competitive and clubs go belly up....isn't that right OMNI?

As for Bacchus Marsh, Darley, Melton South, Melton, and Gisborne joining...hasn't that already happened in the past? May strengthen the top, but the lower clubs will then drop off. And those lower clubs are the clubs that have stuck with RDFL forever! Others have come and gone at their own choice...let them go!!
 
I'm not sure why a two division competition would be appropriate. Clubs in the past refused to be promoted to division one because it was an impossible task. The RDFL is going great guns without a doubt, but Sunbury has no place back in our league, IMO. We've seen two tiers tried and failed here before. Surely we've learnt lessons from the past.

The league is in a fantastic position at the moment. Even if all those clubs wanted to come back to form a 1st division again, it will only hurt the League that we have built since they all left.
People occasionally complain about the umpires now. What division would the best umpires, umpire?
The clubs that have supported the league the past 15 years would then not only need to compete with the big boys recruiting wise, but need to find boundary umpires, etc to fill the holes.

Point them elsewhere.
 
AFL crowds are down wow is it any wonder with the product they now deliver ??? It might pay for the powers to be to of the AFL get down to Romsey Park on Saturday pay $10 to get in( including football Record) ,have a few beers and plenty to eat and get change out of $50!!!Oh yeah I forgot watch the quality squad of the RDFL play good old fashioned football .....Cant wait !

Honest Clean Footy & The Broadford Football Club go together about as much as Julia Gillard & the Truth !!! :confused:
Perhaps one of the RDFL's newer inclusions, the Broadford Football Club who have fast gathered a "Reputation" for ALL the wrong reasons in our Competition learnt a salient lesson Yesterday ???........I sure hope so for their sake !!! :cool:

Oh, & our players will of course cop it on the chin, like men, any penalties that are metered against them. At Riddell we don't squeal or whinge we fully understand that the provocation to retaliate, no matter how much it is justified, is no defence in these type of unfortunate incidents ! :)

You guys live to much in the past
by the way it was a great contest last Saturday and thanks for the riddle boys for staying back for a couple of hours after the game was fun especially seeing Bruno getting down on the dance floor

Sniffed around a bit up home yesty (yes I am a Bford) and a few old timers are extremely wary about events the past couple of weeks.

As I said come along 17th June and all will be answered
Patients s required no rushed decisions like last time
And if there are people with questions who are wary come to the committe and ask we will be transparent and they may have nothing to worry about.
It always seems to be that people need answers now well there has and is a lot of work been and to be done
No decisions are made just investigations and options investigated
This topic needs to be left to unfold without rumours without substance.
Let's get back to the footy

You have bagged the whole club for a punch up, where you had blokes suspended for assaulting Broadford players, it takes two to tango! so you bagged the entire club using the word Broadford because you were not happy with what took place, you used this forum, but when someone else jumps on to voice their frustration, you pull the posts. That's all i'm saying, I didn't see any personal stuff on there, no naming people, just an argument & someone venting their opinion like yourself.

Yes JB, tha ammos do it well. There was talk at one stage that the Bendigo & Ballarat City clubs were to be thrown together in a new comp - seems to have dissipated. If managed well the 2 Div structure could be a good addition. The key is to ensure that the gap between the haves and have nots does not get out of control. Not sure how this would occur as salary caps and the like are a waste of time as they can be manipulated to suit the books far too easily.

You obviously didn't see ALL the posts mate so I got them off before any damage was done. Trust me it wasn't pretty & we dont need that kinda stuff on here !

You seem so wise for a 17 year old, all will be told on June17, we heard all this crap in 2008 and look where it's got the club now. I ask you this, had the club not been currently sitting winless, and had got their recruiting right would this have even come up?

KDFL is no walk in the park, if ya's are serious you go begging back to the HDFL with tails between legs, and like the days when everyone got along you don't field 16's on a Sunday and players go from under 14's to under 17's. That's how 10 thirds flags in a row was done, and 13-14 of the last premiership side graduated from that program.

And don't give me "all will be told" bull$hit, my family have given generations of service to the club and believe it or not I was penning a book on the history of the club for about 7-8 years up until the 2008 debacle. In all my anger I burnt the lot, pity as 2014 would've made an interesting chapter wouldn't it?

I assure you, I've probably forgotten more about the history of that club, than you (Keston) will ever even bother to research, so yeh maybe I will come and listen or will it be financial members or life members only allowed to talk?

You will be able to talk it is not just for members
but we will inform firstly all attending re reasons for meeting put forward a presentation
Take questions and give answers but assure you we will not be turning this into a slug fest re past personal issues we will insure all discussions has relevance re the topic of discussion being the future of the club and the roll it plays in the community
Suggest this gets now left till then
 
Looking ahead to this Saturday.. what a match we have on the cards.. pride will be at stake for the RDFNL lads and lasses as we look to climb up the ladder in the interleague battle.. how do you guys think we will go? How much will the win mean for this competition. For the Seniors, we should be striving very hard over the next few years to crack into the top 20.. we can ill-afford to drop any matches with the great quality on the park.. Alberton will put up a good fight though ..

Broadford last year were only 5-6 players off from being up there...Baz helped also. Agree Doona that recruiting this year has been a **** up. Was there any mention last year of going to a different league, or has this only come up recently??

Mate you have no idea most of that side that played last year are not there due to wanting to play country footy and many didn't want to change leagues
You have no idea what's going on and your pun at dave who I will say is doing his job don't hold water mate get over it his got big shoulders mate and your cracks mean nothing just good laughing material
All sides talk it up early in the year but realistically those without the big $$$$$$ will always struggle
So come down and be educated on this on the 17 th or if not find another topic
