To be honest, I think that the whole thing was blown well over the top for very little reason. But anyways, time to move on from that rubbish and start talking about the good stuff that's happening.

Was fantastic to see the Kangaroos bounce back to a bit of form on the weekend, they were back to playing to their biggest strengths, linking up by playing first option footy and using the best target going forward rather than a focus on one or two targets, while they will need to continue that form on over coming weeks to be considered a main threat again, it was a brilliant start. Mitch Streiff was back to some of his best footy and Matt Welsh was brilliant off half back, his ball use was devastating.

The Burras were simply flat, they never got going and never looked like getting going, Smails was comprehensively beaten by Gregory and Breen was kept quiet by Tate. But the Burra still have plenty of upside, they will welcome back Lenny Clark and few others still to come back into the team, but that loss might make it a tough run for that coveted 3rd spot.

Was a storm in a teacup that turned into 3 pages of Big Footy crap, bans etc. Doona got it right when he said players make (alot) more mistakes than umps..but we only remember the umps error(s). Regardless of the scores or final results, it will unfortunately always be commented on.

Footy....Redbacks are flying, while Diggers, Sunbury and Riddell have confused us all with the results of the last few weeks!! And let's not forget that Rupo are going along nicely...and very quietly atm. 6th spot is anyones guess

The race for 6th is going to be a cracker, maybe we should have two cups :D

Grand final
Normally the grand final venue is set in stone by now is it still
at lancefield ?
Also is there still a night final booked for week one believe it was to be qualifying final 1 v 2 ?

Finals tenders will be sent out very soon I believe.

Including grand final as in past was already agreed upon before start previous seasons or is the tender up for grabs ?

That is factually incorrect, the tender for the Grand Final is always open for application.

I know it's always up or debate but I still love Lancefield as a Grand final venue.. the trees around the ground lock the atmosphere in and I've never seen a game with a bad atmosphere.. plus, it's within walking distance from home ;)

Anyone who thinks that Romsey are not perfectly positioned for a run at the flag is kidding themselves, Mongrel has worked hard to identify the right areas of improvement and every time I see Romsey they have improved again.

Right now, Romsey are the best coached team with the best list in the competition.

We at romsey appreciate at last some constructive feedback ims.....
The club has worked so hard this year and continue to do so.
The romsey football club have nothing but the upmost respect for the riddell football club and are working night and day to try and mirror the success that their great club has achieved.
also what started as a post asking for feedback and discussion about a persons opinion of an umpire spiralled out of control due to one mans own personal agenda against the romsey football club.

We where told last year was in stone for past three years by rdfl delegate ?

Then you were misinformed.

I would think you were more likely to have been told that it would take a mighty submission to have it changed from Lancefield Park, which is probably still accurate, but there is no doubt that some grounds are rapidly catching up.

Id love to see the gf rotated between lfield macedon and romsey. All great venues. On a biassed note however I honestly beleive that the spectator standing areas at romsey and the player facilities are ahead of lancefield. There is no standing areas at lfield on the wings where footy is best viewed. Only behind both goals and out the front of the big shed in the top end fwd pocket. Yet romsey has great viewing out front of the clubrooms and the entire wing area including the areas lfield has.

but I also love macedon as a venue. Great scenery, terrific ground and a good atmosphere. However I dont think its quite what romsey and lfield are.

I still think that the biggest advantage that Lancefield has is the capacity for parking. But their surface is also the best in the competition in my opinion. Macedon is the most picturesque ground without question, and Romsey's facilities are top notch, as are Riddell's and the playing surface at Romsey is a close second to Lancefield.

Speaking of grounds, how is Woodend looking at this time of year? I love that ground also but turns to poo pretty quick.
Didn't it get work done this year?

Think the work is happening at the end of the season.

Maybe that old Divvie 2 Cup should be dusted off and awarded to a 6th vs 7th place playoff and then play a top 5 finals series can take place ha ha

By the way, no idea what the above reference is about Wild Bill, I think the good cop/bad cop thing IMS and OMNI are running works well

Only have the good cop left. Maybe we you could join and then we could have good cop - good cop?

Lancefields surface is onion grass, it is slippery all year round. It was in very poor condition on Saturday. The grand final is all about watching the best 2 teams go at, on the best playing surface.
There is nothing worse than watching players slipping over on a surface that is not up to scratch. I think the amount of parking at Lancefield and Romsey wouldnt be to much of a difference. Both have ample parking around the ground and side streets. Romsey also has the old motor bike track behind the score board, I couldn't guess how many cars could park there ( a lot). Macedon on the other hand has stuff all parking.

Romsey folk will do anything to get the grand final. Lancefield slippery because of onion grass? Give me a spell. You don't see good players slip over more at Lancefield than any other ground.

Lancefield might not have an immaculate surface in the home and away season (no one does), but it's always cherry ripe for the grand final.

I believe there are many grounds which can be utilized, last year a final was played at Rockbank which has beautiful views, a Caravan Park if you would like to stay for the weekend & the Puffing Billy going through every 30 minutes for the kids! You could make it a Grand Final Week at Rockbank!

Can you share any news bout the meeting at Broadford last night Doona or Keston?

Not much to be honest Iceman, RDFL were well prepared and made some extremely valid points. I thought the night was well set up and run, but for the club I just hoped there would've been more support/interest locally as I don't think anything can be voted on based on last night.

There's still a hell of a lot of fact/opinion finding required from Broadford's end if you ask me for this to progress past it's current state. Wardy did applaud the club for being proactive about sustaining a future, but was quick to highlight the fact that maybe Broadford as a club need to get themselves right off field before they can seriously take stock off what happens on ..... makes sense when you think about it.
Load needs to be spread as all clubs experience, people like Webby and his family have been rock solid for a fair while now but they need more support to transition the joint into a truly more business focussed entity. .

The roll out for me was disappointing which I must add has me extremely concerned for the club going forward. Predominantly footballers/netballers/committee, couple of parents, maybe a sponsor or two. I counted I think 19-20 people who are currently not involved with the BFNC at the meeting. 5 of those came from the RDFL, 2 were media, and 2 from the Goulburn Murray region. So to only have 10-11 interested people can be taken two ways. Either plenty aren't in favour of another league switch, or the interest is simply not there anymore. Of 39 living life members, 31 reside within 25-30 minutes of town yet only 7 were present (3 apologies).

I'm not even sure if all life members were aware of the meeting. Can't rely on Facebook and websites for something of this magnitude.

I think Skip was the only person to ask a question from those currently within the club so I assume (and hope) these guys and girls are asking plenty of questions when at the club as I know I would've been all over it had I been in their situation last night.

One life member, who was backed up by Wardy was in favour of a more thorough survey across all players currently not at the club. I'd personally even extend that to other past serving members like committee, sponsors, coaches, parents too. Find out why they're enjoying their sport elsewhere and there could be a common reason which could be addressed easier than another switch.

I have agreed to exchange some dialogue with a couple of people up there, as to me there are some things that could help this process.

Clearly in your haste to respond you didn't read the post from Doona.

We all want the same thing clubs to survive
People to enjoy there footy
No haste just this is not the forum
Was good to have doona there last night he put out some good points

Can I say we need to let the good people of broadford do there work .
