FFS why people continue to spear Keston on this site is beyond me.I as I'm sure many others disagree with many of his views but I'm sure most know who he is so if you have a problem with him voice it to him in person or private message not on this site.

Onto the footy and Broadford too good yestdy and I think a real chance to take it up to Diggers. Was great to see the 3 broadford and 3 Wallan 18s playing the main game and all performed well.
Evening Barfly
It was good to see the younger Broadford and wallan kids play well yesterday in a tough game off footy
Cheers for the beer after the game
My shout in 3-4 weeks

Broardford would have to be favourites for the flag at full strength in my opinion. Sunbury have a tough run home I can see your boys taking 6th spot if they can keep their players injury free which would be a fantastic effort.

Never fear stated in a good way doona your one of the good blokes who puts in that effort whenever you are a part of club :)

Misinterpreted Keston, all good, just thought I'm about due for someone to have another clip.

Agree with Barfly's sentiments, was good to watch yesty, crowd was good too, and great to hear Skip and co. Ventured into the rooms afterwards because (correct me if Im wrong) I overheard at our game today a couple of Rupo folk half joking about the fact maybe Chambers the only player to visit Rockbanks social club last night?

The young Redbacks will be gutted tonight, coming from 5 goals down to hit the front at the 21 minute mark of the last. Macedon pinched a goal in the last minute, the Redbacks scrambled it forward and had snap at goal only to score a behind. They refused to give in marking about 50 out kicking it into the square only for Macedon to mark and the siren sound. Very proud of the boys effort. Poor kicking again an issue.
Called in and caught the last half of this game.
Thought the young romsey boys did a fantastic job and were extremely unlucky.
Looking through macedons team i see that waters, wright, mills, fitzgerald and burgess didnt play.
Some good ins to comeback there no doubt but am hearing that a few of them might be lucky to be back before finals.
Macedons ground is on the verge of becoming a mass bog heap, one maybe two games and it will be shocking.
shame as its one of the best viewing grounds in the league

Hey guys .. the potting of clubs, coaches, players and the like, spreading of rumours and such is getting pretty old.. it probably did a long time ago.. would rather see users not have an alias, and just put their real names out there ..
The spreading of rumours about a club like the Melton Centrals isn't doing anyone any favours.. that club (like all) need as much help behind the scenes as possible on all sorts of areas.. it has a dedicated team of volunteers that need help from more volunteers.. pot shots doesn't do them any favour, but lets be honest, it is just that.. why not get involved, help them out, help the club grow..?
If users are going to take pot shots at people like Keston, well.. why? If anyone has met the great man, like him or not, he's busted his guts behind the scenes of a number of clubs and dedicated much of his non-working life to football.. and I know, because when he was working for a local club.. I'd be kept up to date regularly on the phone by things he and that club have been doing.. and did so successfully..
Before you complain, have you volunteered yet?

Not as close as we would've liked and in the end payed for a terrible start. Excellent debut for Corey Grindlay, while Direen in his first game and Inness in his 2nd did well.
I see BOG for the Wallan under 18's was Nathan Fowler, I hope Nathan is given his opportunity to play senior footy sooner than later, he was always a great kid growing up & I cant wait to see him perform at senior level.

Why doesn't that surprise me with the Rupo club

Now this is brings me to an Interesting subject of mine. I'm not a great advocate of the points system nor salary cap. But do believe something needs to change. The points system seems to be working in a small way just think the player ratings need to be reviewed..

I like the idea of clubs having to play a certain number of say under 22 kids in their senior side and maybe even 1 or 2 under 18s each week. Make it compulsory. The under 18 player can play a max of 4 games to qualify otherwise his treated as a normal player with points..
I know VFL use the 23rd player from TAC cup but in local just put them into the 22 for more game time.

I guess the problem is, do clubs have enough 18s to compete at senior level??

Thoughts??

Comes from fair stock too does young Nath ;)

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story..... Plenty of Rupo folk there until at least 5.30. We had a compulsory function on Sat night.

Good to hear, woulda been a poor look and a slap in the face to Rockbank hey.

Could sworn we were page 62 earlier today

Just wondering on clubs/peoples opinions what they think of players going on holidays during the season? My thoughts are it could cost sides finals spots and also have an impact on reserves as a few clubs struggle for numbers as it is. I'm mainly talking about contracted players, do clubs have ways of dealing with it or is it just accepted? I only ask because back in my day contracted or not it rarely happened!!!

Unfortunately, only Brett Chambers and Kev stayed back with a few of the older club supporters, no other senior player stuck around which was pretty disappointing.

We've had a rough old year no doubt, but we've prided ourselves on doing the right thing by our opposition sides and will continue to do so.

Was great that the two field umpires were there for an hour, great to have a good chat with them and get some feedback.

And no, haven't done much in the deleting department this week :D

A couple of posters just doing a bit of a tidy up of their own work - no posts removed by mods

Mate when they're now getting upwards of $600-700 a game ($1k in some cases) as well as earning a weekly wage footy aint the be all and end all anymore.
