Yeah, Grey did his Hammy on Sat.. They are in some trouble because they are all Big Guys they have out, but they are a very dangerous side, no doubt about it.
Al Meldrum was the other Romsey player, named at CHF as changing ruckman with Jose.
Heritage has had a good year but compared to Matty Robertson?? Easily first pick centreman.
Overall the team was pretty close, I think Leigh McInerney may have been a little stiff not to get in though, had a fair season.
Bulldog is a freak, every game that guy plays I see sides try to expose him and every time I see him embarress them. Very smart footballer.
He will need all his smarts if they are going to get over Centrals though, Romsey seem to be in a bit of turmoil at the moment.
Must admit I have seen more of Diggers this year than Kilmore but the amount of the ball Heritage has won this year has been phenominal.I have been told some stats but I wont even bother posting them they are that unbelievable.Robertson is one of my favourite players to watch and he is more stylish than Heritage I suppose.Surely Heritage should have been on the ground at the very least.

Did you see Diggers own version of Bulldog on the weekend?Little Damian Janner was dominant at half back and seems fearless. He actually played on Bulldog earlier in the year when I watched them and was beaten but he is improving rapidly.Bulldog is better in defence than in the guts IMO.Just gets his marking going playing down back.

I played cricket against Mcinerny (call him grubby yeah?).I heard some story about his brother getting taken out at the first bounce of the season by an ex team mate.It was his first year at the club wasn't it?Do you have any other potential recruits for next season? Most clubs usually have a couple of rumours flying around at this time of year.

Yeah, wasnt an ex teammate as much as ex club, and he thought it was Grubby... Was probably the only really dirty act I seen in a pretty good season. Mark can play, no doubt about it, his last six games this year were outstanding.
Got the feelers out for recruiting, nothing I would bother mentioning yet though, not until players were signed, but things are looking up again, and if we can add a couple of genuine top players for this league we will be able to take another step next year.
Did see Damien play on the weekend, he did have a good game, was a little surprised to see that Heritage wasnt best on ground by Diggers book, clear standout to us. Look forward to seeing how these guys stack up against Riddell though, cos I think Diggers are a real chance.
Is Jose gone for the season?

Who do you think will win B&F's at other clubs...?
(Just a wild guess)
Riddell - Jay Allen
Diggers - Bevan Green
Romsey - Al Meldrum
Centrals - Corey Battye?
Lancefield - Scott Clarke
Woodend - Matt Stacey/Josh Hegarty
Kilmore - Matty Robertson
Sunbury - Leigh McInerney / Damien Niki
Macedon - Luke Conversano
Rockbank - Chris Caresellos QUOTE]

Chris Caresellos probably won't win the B&F at Rockbank because he missed a few games and was getting back from his knee reco from last round 2004. Michael Taylor will probably get the nod. Carasellos is a player who would definetly be able to play in a higher league. Last year was only his 2nd year of football and made the League team. He would push for the Bowen Medal in a good team.

Is Jose gone for the season?
Yep Jose and Steven Hoare (played on Morgan) went overseas this week I think.

Thought Dan Reilly played on Morgan...?
Couple of huge losses though, looking at the players they have out, its going to be a real tough ask for them to get over Riddell.
Think the Bombers will get up by 6 goals, think Romsey will get over Centrals by 2 goals.

Reilly played on him early and also thrashed him last time they met but in the second half Hoare went onto him to release Reilly a bit.Hoare was the guy who did the massive diving smother in the last quarter.I agree they would have to go in as under dogs with the players they have out but Hopkins have them playing ferocious footy at the moment.Nothing would suprise me in that game including a thrashing either way.Really looking forward to watchibng it.Probably wont go and watch the other game.Romsey should run Centrals off there feet although the Woodend mud might have a say in that.

I went to Rockbank's B&F count last night, but to be honest I can't remember who ended up winning the seniours' B&F medal. Being an U18s player myself, I had most of my attention on our count. Jason Wellfare won it for the 18s with a massive 118 votes - more than double the amount of votes the second placed Brett Henry polled.

Brendan Newitt and Jason Wellfare were the favourites, and Newie (Newitt) only ended up with 20 votes - an absolute farce.

I know Michael Taylor, Chris Carraselos and Scott Matthews polled very well for our seniours. I am guessing they were all top three.

Chris Carassellos won the Rockbank B&F on 99 by 3 votes to Scott Matthews on 96. Don't know the official other placings but Scott O'Donnell and Michael Taylor were close

come on trissy i wouldve thought i had a pretty consistent year you dont mention me you punk lol i finished top 5 and missed votes i shouldve gotten

Who won the seconds B&F ? Did you win it Rocket9 ? Or was it one of the Tellis' ? :D

No I didn't get close. It was Shannon Batten (Shags) followed by Travis Yeates.

I knew all along you'd get top five. But Newie not even coming top ten is beyond a joke. I polled in games I definitely shouldn't have, and didn't poll in games that I definitely should have. Some of the votes were stupid, as you probably figured out when you didn't poll when you expected to.

Well, what a flogging that was.... Diggers didnt even show up on the weekend....
Good effort from Riddell, totally outplayed them in every way.
Diggers will have some work to do... Think they might struggle this week against Romsey to be honest.

Haha good to see the Rockbank boys posting on BF. Although x_box_x i thought all these times on the Bulldogs board i was dealing with some big tough guy, not a panzy little girl who plays under 18s in the worst comp in Australia.

Like the rest of the Bulldog supporters its good to see you reaching for the skys and getting the most out of your ability OR lack of it ;) .

I must say though, how good is Michael Allen??? I thought if Riddell were to win it would all come down to Jamesy... As good as he is going, without Allen firing they may have some problems.... The kid can play, and as good a kick for goal as I have seen.

Tige leave the poor kid alone.. its not his fault he cant play footy

or maybe it is??

Was down at one or two of the rockbank games this season with mates and yeah i would have to agree that it is definitely quite embarrassing some of the stuff that goes on during the game

It was a shocking game.Just seemed like Riddell came out as the hunters instead of being the hunted and it was a bit of a reversal for Diggers who also lost Ruane for the year.I agree they will struggle to get back up now.

Allen had the same opponent most of the day and was well on top of him.Not sure what the thinking was there from Diggers.I think once the game was gone they thought they might as well give the guy who was playing on him some experience.

What did you make of the reserves game?

The Reserves game was much the same as the Senior game, Diggers came to play, we didnt, deserved everything we got that day... No excuses for that performance.

unfortunately woodend u/18 crashed outta the finals this week, sad result. stewie braddy the coach of these boys for the past 5 years has now retired.
