hello Matt. I like your reporting for the comp. I was at the game of Riddle v Romsey and some of the players that have been talked up in this thread were ordianry at best. Morgan did nothing. Blade was average. I would like to start a most underrated section. A couple that id put in are Heritage from diggers rest and from what i saw on the weekend Keenan off the backline for Romsey. His disposal is very good while keeping his man quite. When are these types of players going to get recognized instead of the same old names that havnt done much at all.Cheers.

Heritage is far from underrated but I agree, it is always the same names.. I would say Dan Reilly from Diggers, James Climas from Riddell, Adam Johnstone from Woodend and Adam Goudge from Kilmore are some of the more underrated players in the competition.

Add to that list:

Adam Moedt (Kilmore) - hasn't had many goals kicked on him this year.

Paul Podbury (Woodend-Hesket) - never gets as many accolades as he deserves.

Damien Niki (Sunbury Kangaroos) - has been in scintillating form this year.

Under rated player-
Dono from Sunbury is a gun!
i think Tristan Salter is pretty under rated also very rarely has a bag kicked against him even when kilmore got beated fairly easily 3 weeks in a row, he kept his opponents quiet! good defender with a high level of fitness.

Definition of sheep dog: always outside the pack, won't do the hard stuff. Bit like potting someone from behind a computer alias really, isn't it?

Hello all,

Long time reader, First time poster.

Thought it was about time that Mr Lyon got involved in this super thread revolving itself around a super league.

I have been following the RDFL closely for the past couple of years and am impressed by the competition as a whole and the level of games that are played. Its super stuff.

Also, it is really good to see so many passionate RDFL people posting on this site about thier respective clubs. Makes for exciting times in the RDFL.

Keep up the good work all.. You will all be hearing alot more from me in the future.

Was at training last night in about 2 degree weather that Woodend provides most of the time during winter, and a little birdy let a cat out of the bag that Riddell within the next two weeks could be strengthened again!

Now one of these blokes is a damm good footballer as we have seen for the last couple of years, but with him making interleague and kicking a substantial amount of goals for in another league! Now we heard this @ the start of the yeat and on anuber of occasions throughout the year but from this close source the time has come for Lee James to return! Work commitments and the new born is to much to handle with a 6 hour round trip to Mulwala on top! Now Slugger i know you read this so please put an end to these rumours, are you or are you not coming hom this weekend or next weekend?

The Next one is Marcus Power a former Riddell and Gisborne player, who left to head North, but is back and looking @ playing football this year! My source tells me that both Gisborne and Riddell a very keen to secure this man as he is a very hard nut at the football!

Now my source doesn't normally let me down that often but when the same continued rumours and the Bombers having a massive week ahead of them, could this be the extra ticket that may see them defeat the Roos?

Has anybody else within the RDFL District heard any speculation from this rumour?

Surely he would be on a contract at Mulwala.. Would need to be a big reason for the club to release him.. But good players returning to the league can only be a positive for the RDFL.. :thumbsu:
