How bout we have a parma and pot at the pub after the Romsey v Kilmore clash?

Also, for those interested, I'm thinking of expanding my horizons in summer, taking a step back from cricket and writing a history book on the RDFL since 1945 (post war). Not set in stone yet, but the last league book is now out of date and I think the Riddell League history should be published before it goes on too longer and we lose key pieces of information.

Have the 1872-1972 100 years of football Riddell district if you haven't seen it yet.

having read the upcoming record for round 11 in the RDFL - is it just me or could we perhaps just put signange on all grounds reading - BIGFOOTY.COM:D

Riddell home in "Slog" of the day 5.6 to Woodend 2.2.
Not much to be seen in both sides given the conditions.
Just maybe strength department, Riddell to powerful !
Some noteable outs for both teams prior to bounce.

TOOL OF THE WEEK................... Heath Wadden, some people just will not learn !
Reported for (allegedly of course) screaming at umpire " Your a F*****g Cheat" !

has already seen six for a similar offence. four weeks for grub without swearing. might be getting close to seeing the 16 week rule invoked here. any one know how many weeks he has up his sleave.

Pretty silly by Waddsy.. Should know better than that..

Results..

Centrals by 6 goals
Roos by 8 goals
Riddell by 3 goals
Romsey by 3 goals
and

Kilmore and Lancefield a draw....

Kilmore leaving the door wide open for Diggers with a draw...

Sounds like mr Iian Findlay could be getting a call very soon. my prediction, if swearing was involved 6-7 weeks. damn shame if it does happen we need the best footballers on the park to promote this comp.
But i guess what he did, mmm not a good promotion.

Riddell clearly to good for the hawks today. Quality Riddell midfield has added some more hardness this year with Coles and Climas, Petran broke the game open in the 3rd quarter when he went on the pill. Omni right hard to tell of that game who would win a final in dry conditions, but I think the rest of the competition has a fair bit of work to do. Riddell have a really good mix of the senior blokes Belville, Blade Allen, Peatling and physically mature kids who change games. On a positive note for the hawks Sippy showed what he has to offer for the rest of the year.

Spot on Rod', that Petran boy was very powerful in the clinches then with that rakeing left foot was devestating.
Thought Matt Shaughnessy no' 31 was great for Riddell, other good players were Murray Mcdougall, Nick Ash, Braydon Allen & Jason Allen.

On another note would just like to congratulate whoever was responsible for Footy Record publication today, was a ripper idea & would be a great inclusion on every game day !

Kilmore drew with Lancefield? Well, I take my hat off to the Tigers. Can anybody advise whether Lancefield played well or whether Kilmore played badly? No offence to Lancefield, hopefully both sides played well:thumbsu:

Just like to say that I witnessed a cracking game today at Romsey Park. Diggers up by 20 points at half time, Redbacks up by 12 points at 3/4 time and won the game by 17 points. Every player, from both sides had a genuine crack at it. I'd also like to say that Heritage and Simms both absolute standouts for the Burra, those boys can proudly hold their heads high, well done.:thumbsu:

As for Romsey, they lifted when the chips were down, without some of their "top" players. Cam Dawson was a late withdrawel, no Matt McLellan, no Luke Edwards, no Dave Keenan. The boys really showed some character. Great win guys!!:thumbsu:

Riddell too good yes. Clearly mmmmmm not so sure. We must have been at two different games Rodriguez. Woodend overall went into the fifty more times than Riddell, however Riddell used the ball more efficiently going into their forward fifty. Woodend also won more centre clearances (overall) but as pointed out it was Climas and Petran that broke the game open in the third quarter through their terrific clearance work. Good sides can win put a side away in a quarter and Riddell did that today. So it wasn't Riddell's muscle work that won the game today but rather their footy smarts i.e positioning around the contests, cleaner skills in those conditions and their ability to push players behind the ball(they love to have loose men in defence) and then counter attack (which they do extremely well). Good to see David Patterson add another scalp to his list clearly beating Bellville who with Blade was ineffective today.
The next time they play will be finals on most likely a dry track and it's my opinion we will see a different game with a different result-One thing is for certain that they are not unbeatable and the premiership race is open a lot wider than most people believe. Hawks do have some work ahead of them. Hats off to the bombers however today.

Assumptions can be dangerous Woody, the fact of the matter is the two sides may not meet again come Finals time !
Unless of course you are discounting the team above Woodend now on the ladder or the team just below you, that had a terrific win yesterday against the odds.
They may have something to say about that !

You're not pulling someone up for being over confident on this thread are you OM? If you set that precedent you're going to be a busy person for the rest of the year.
