Yeh im not stating that it was a fact or anything .. as far as i could remember them always consistently finishing top 3 every year a few years back before and the year they left only heard off one source is they wanted a new challenge.

Didnt wallan leave RDFL a few years back due to dominating the league and wanting to find the next big challenge?
Practice match results from Saturday.
Romsey defeated Wallan by about eight goals.
Lancefield defeated North Sunshine by five or six points.
Diggers Rest defeated Heathcote by about eight goals.

patchy game. diggers came to play and showed they have worked hard over summer and kicked the first 6 sausages.Any new stand outs that may have made the move to any of these clubs.
Were Diggers and Heathcote close to full strength.
Any news from other games Riddell, Woodend?

after that it was a game of few highlights and the final margin was about 45 points. quite even after quarter time.
burra fielded a pretty strong side probably only missing chewy and matty walker from best 22. speaking to al after game who said heethcote were disappointing but had half a dozen to come in including a bloke (can't remember his name but played at kyneton) who kicked 100+ for them last year. diggers moved the ball well though
Didnt dominate, got out when others club were contemplating the same. Wouldnt be surprised if they look to re-enter as early as 2008.
Have you heard something doona bout wallan re-entering or is it just a gut feeling. How did Cornish and Kemp go yesterday for kilmore?
Know nothing but to me it's common sense to head back, the difference in league fees alone wouldnt be as demanding prior to budgets on the playing list. Would be good for the RDFL too I reckon.
Wallan left when the league was stuggling to recover from the departure of all the big clubs. I believe there is mixed feelings with some clubs about welcoming them back with open arms. (if it was ever to happen) But yes your right it would be good for the RDFL
who is the fullback for woodend, runs well out of backline ( has real large head)

i think thats the league to be a lot stronger needs an interleague game
been talked about before by people on here on like queens birthday weekend thursday night
say they could train the two wednesdays before it. play it at a ground with good lights. start about 6.30. if a club opened up its club social rooms they could make a good dollar. get say 100 odd people from another league there. people there from every club. good quality game
worth thought i think
My dream team RDFL clubs:
Romsey
Lancefield
Kilmore
Riddell
Woodend
Macedon
Sunbury Kangaroos
Diggers Rest
Melton Central
Rockbank
Trentham
Wallan
Although Trentham are no good, they should return to the RDFL. It will only help the club bounce back and help recruit players. No one from Melbourne will play in the MCDFL but will play in the RDFL.
Rockbank may always be uncompetitive, but they are good to have in the competition, that area will only grow, which should see more players head to the Rams.
Wallan should be welcomed back with open arms to the league, and I'm sure after two or three eyars they would be serious contenders. It's the fastest growing town out of Melbourne.
Any one looking for something to do tomorrow night if you're in the Seymour area a reminder that we (Broadford) are having a practice match against Sunbury Kangaroos at Kings Park.
Game will kick off at 7.45 with the SFNC having their bar in operation.
Like Sunbury we'll have a few missing but really looking forward to the hit out and see how we go against one of he sides I hear will be right in the finals mix in 2007. Thanks to Al Meldrum our boys will be wearing Heathcote FC jumpers to avoid a jumper clash![]()
Thanks again to Gavin and his club for accepting our invitation, maybe there are some seats on the bus if anyone's interested, maybe one of the Sunbury guys can post details.
For all those interested we have the Essendon Nissan RDFL Tipping comp for 2007 starting up as an automated web tipping.
