Woodend 90+

didnt hear who they picked up??...theyre going ok..8-1

if you can get a bloke mid year whos scored 36 bowen votes in a year (even though it was a while ago) is a very handy pick up

I'm a newbie here guys but have been following the RDFL for about the last 10 years. I think he Romsey boys would be a little heart broken to find a club legend and local boy lining up for the Roos. I've known the Cuffe family a long time and I would like to think the only reason he is pulling on the boots at Boardman is due to his involvement with the juniors down there.

As good a player as he is/was, do you think he will be able to consistantly play at senior level again? He has had 2 x knee injuries and a damaged kidney playing for Keilor. No doubt he will help deliver the onballers first use, but how damaging can a 6'6" 36 yo with bad knees going to be for the next 10-15 weeks?

Personally, I'd love to see him dominate the way he used to. For someone of his size, his balluse at ground level was exceptional. I will be keeping a rather keen eye on the progress of Mr Cuffe. Good Luck.

hey guys just when is the cut off for the clearences so that all this talk of who coming to who will stop and we will get a clear indication of what each team has got?

who is this cuffie guy for the kangas any info would be good? what possie he play ect ect???

Very quiet from your likes of Burger and Billy this week, just wondering boys who will get the job on Cuffe this week! Will be a big focus!

i guess it all depends where he plays. if he plays in the ruck id imagine the job will go to the likes of thommo and jose primarly. if he spends time down forward id imagine it will be the likes of B.green and or Underwoord who did the job on darko when playing against woodend. just like the past 4 weeks this is a big game for the boys and im sure they are focusing on nothing other then performing well as 22 players for 4 qtrs of football. Id also imagine the weather will be the same as round1.

what team is B.Burridge playing reason i ask is if its the 2nds want to make sure im there to watch him

Maybe the Diggers boys have been gagged so no ammunition is given for the big game.
Diggers will have to bring up the likes of Chewy or Walker to deal with Cuffe with all reports Lefty wont play and the likes of Ruane and Jose still under injury clouds. Payne back down in the 2's which will leave Thommo 1 out in the goal square.

Mr Nicholls & IMS when can we expect your weekly thoughts on all games?

He's just not good enough to be playing seniors at the moment. Too slow, too fat, gets in his own way. Harsh but true

After five days of thinking about my tips I have actually selected Diggers Rest to upset the Roos this weekend. Basing the decision on Payney being out of the the Burra side, the key injuries the Roos are suffering, and the fact that the game is at Diggers Rest.

Therefore, my tips for this week are:

Diggers Rest by 4 points.
Riddell by 24 points.
Woodend-Hesket by 80 points.
Romsey by 30 points.
Lancefield by 45 points.

Harry's Tips for the Weekend's Games

Diggers Rest V Sunbury Kangaroos

With much hype about last weeks game against Riddell and bitter dissapointment for the Roos, they will be sure to fire up this week for a huge turnaround. With the suprise signtaure of Jamie Cuffe a massive plus for the Roos they should account for a dismal (at best) Diggers this week. Having said that, the big guy will have to step straight up to the plate against a proven successful ruckmand in Jose, and deliver the ball down the throat of Bonicci and McInerny if the Roos are to be tiumphant. Roos by 10 points.

Rockbank v Lancefield

Rockbank seem to be on the improve this year but just can't manage to get a credible scalp on the board. While Lancefield have shown they are still a side that can mtach the big boys this year they will need to show their passion and hunger for 4 quaters this week if they are to ensure theyget over the line. The conditions will play a huge role in the margin. Tigers by 25 points.

Melton Central v Romsey

This could well be a danger game for the Redbacks coming off two convincing losses in a row, although both losses have been at the hands of probably the two most inform sides of the league at present. Centrals will be looking at this game as a very winnable chance on their home ground. I think that may be the only thing in their favour this week, along with the weather. The Redbacks will need to be accountable for that ball magent Wheelan if they are to control the game from the mid-field, something they have struggled to do all year. Romsey by 36 points.

Riddell v Kilmore

What more can you say about Riddell? Made light work of Romsey two weeks ago and thrashed the undefeated Roos by near on 20 goals. They are proving to be a formidable opponent this year and have cemented their right as premiership favourites. Kilmore have a handfull of exceptional players that will need to fire all at once along with their second tier players. I don't think they will have enough ammunition in the middle to give Cornish first use of the prune. Riddell by 10 goals.

Macedon v Woodend Hesket

The only thing that seems to be in favour of Macedon this week will be that the game is played at Tony Clarke Reserve. Woodend will be far too strong for the young cats. If, and I repeat IF, the Cats young guys can lift to match the Hawks young brigade, they might have a chance of sneaking within 5 goals. Both sides will be accustomed to the snow if it decides to fall this week so I doubt if the weather will be a factor. Woodend by 10 goals.

Good Luck to all pulling them on this weekend!!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Roos - but no confidence with the outs they have
Tigers - need to win well to improve percentage and keep faint finals hopes alive
Redbacks - will bounce back
Bombers - nothing more needs to be said here
Hawks - as above

I dont want to sound patronising b.o.g but the last 3 pages of posts saying that the 6 foot 6 bloke who will give the kangas small men first use of the ball would point towards him being a ruckman I think. All clearances have to be signed, sealed and delivered by the last day of the month but I could stand corrected on that though. Big game this week for the kangas, they will bounce back, they have too. Last week would still be stinging them, so they have to send a message that it was just a one off. Should be very interesting.

Seems to be alot of talk of the Roos out, only two obvious senior players missing! Do not know where all this speculation of bucket loads of players missing!

Couple suspect but i would expect them to play! A repeat of last week will no occur this week!

riddell
lancefield
woodend
centrals
roos

Riddell to continue the demolishing form on sides and destroy Kilmore, with Kilmore left holding there arse after being torn a new A-hole !

Sunbury to bounce back and smash Diggers, just have something extra to prove! Grub Jnr and Helmers to run riot!

Us to crush Macedon and Daniel Sipthorpe to find his feet in 07!

Lancefield to make a late charge with B Talbot walking straight back into the line up! Strongest line up to date!

Centrals in an upset, play their ground exceptionally well, expect this to be the upset of the year! I am picturing a massive injury out of this game, don't know why i just have a gut feeling!
